Achievements are unnecessary if you need to feel rewarded your p laying the game for the wrong reasons. I hope nintendo never does that

This, i dont get it. I thought the whole thing was silly when 360 had it and I thought it was even sillier when PS3 started doing it. Dont get me wrong I like the little sound the PS3 makes when i get one, and I am at level 14 on PS3. BUt thats just because I have alot of games. Im not really a big trophy hunter. I got 3 plats. Uncharted 2 because I played it all the damn time. and Sly 1&2 but those were giveaways.

I don't really care about trophies or achievements as a mainly nintendo gamer. I want to unlock stuff. Find secrets, etc. Getting some worthless trophy juster takes away from the game.

I don't know I think it creates a good healthy competition with fellow gamers. My brother and I are always at it and it doesn't take away from the game I think it adds to it. Games I would have never gave a chance, got a chance and I actually started enjoying more types of games. So if you are a nintendo gamer and have not fully understood the thrill in achievements, then I think you have some biasism.  For instance I got the Mile Hige Club achievement on Call of Duty. This achievement is extreme and hard as sh-t but I eventually got it. I was championing around my living room and my woman had to come see what the F was going on, Thank god she is a gamer. LOL  After that my brother worked at it for 3 weeks just to be on my level.  I went through oblivion and did every single missions and achievement, I'm sure the other gamer could agree that it just adds a mission, a direction to go to and I think it is genius. Just like how sports rewards trophies. some achievements only certain High level gamers can achieve.  I've had gamers get online and look at my profile achievements while playing live and give me props. It's your record of gaming. you can go back through and compare with whoever you like.

I think until you experience the extra level achievements/trophies adds to gaming you won't understand what it adds to gaming.  Key word is add, It adds competition, fun. This intensifies your experience in different ways and I don't think it takes away form it in any shape or form. The game is still there and you can choose to follow your achievements or not.

Achievements are lame. Finishing the game is the achievement. I really dont why people care for these trophy-thingies.

See above post. Once it's on Wii U, liked rumored, I'm sure you will change your mind on achievements/trophies.

ALso, is it lame because Nintendo don't have it?  I see this a lot when people nock it because they don't got it.

Yea but you just showed you do it to show off which is ok if youre super cool hardcore gamer but for nintendo games its about playing together or just enjoying the play experience. And even then nintendo games are set up so you can impose challenges on yourself so achievements are only for bragging rights, and please keep that shit away from fun nintendo games

To late, CAN't WAIT!!!!!!!

Wii U get’s achievement’s

Achievement’s:

Finally, we get to see some achievement system integrated into a Nintendo console (frankly, they should have done this with the 3DS). You will be able to, like the Xbox 360 and PS3, show off your achievements online to your friends and you will also be able to check out their’s.

Track game progress:

This is so your friends can see how far you are in a certain game online. Again, this is like the PS3 and Xbox but it is nice to see Nintendo finally do something sensible with their online system.

Connect Wii U to Club Nintendo account’s:

Probably the equivilant to the PlayStation Store or the Xbox Live Marketplace, you will be able to purchase DLC, new games and other various item’s.

Schedule online matches:

Definatly one of the most interesting and unique aspects revealed, being able to schedule online matches seem’s like a very cool feature. You can schedule a match with a friend and if you are watching TV at the time a reminder will pop up on the remote informing you of where you should be.

Friend’s List:

Need I really explain this? But it is about time in all fairness that Nintendo had a proper friend’s list.

So what do you think of these feaures? Do you think Nintendo will ever catch up on PSN and XBL? Let us know below

there is random game play that you will never do in normal play  with out achievements. Like," shot all camps with one rocket each in hardcore mode, without dying." So those types of achievements challenge you. There are tons like that and I beat you never get to do that in any of your games. Not just collectible's but hard a-- time trials and I'm sure more then you have thought. I think Biasism is soaking up your opinion of fun. The games are there to challenge you. You know how much replay value I get out of my games compared to you? Most likely not.

Having to compete with my brother is a added value. So you don't like being challenged?

Lol but its not a competition your trying so hard to prove you get more replay value or challenge or fun than me, which is cool if you need that, but I know how much fun I have and if I choose too I can challenge myself I dont some stupid list of achievements to do that

There are in the mii plaza thingy that you can unlock.
Also, you can try unlock all the achievement in Shinobi 3D.
