After fighting an uphill battle to convince you that Uncharted 3 ain't all that, I must finally admit defeat. I surrender to you, Aldro. Uncharted 3 is the greatest game ever conceived.

Thats nice and all but why should we care?

Uncharted 3 was a good game but theres plenty of better games, Uncharted 2 for starters.

Why would anyone think Uncharted 2 is better. I can't understand this, maybe it's nostalgia? I suggest you play UC2 again before playing UC3 and try not to let the scores affect you.

Nostalgia...its only a 2 year old game - Two years can cloud the memory easily. The story was better - Not in my opinion, the graphics were better - Uhm...no, the settings were better (Tibet vs a Desert) - How is Tibet better than the desert?, the shooting mechanics were better - Nope? You can pick from two aiming styles. Only one in UC2., it was funnier - About the same amount of humour imo and it had better set pieces - Really? Uncharted 3 had way bigger and way more of them. Uncharted 3 wasnt any different gameplay wise than the last one either. - You say the shooting was worse though, what gives? And how about the way improved melee, more varied gameplay?

Not in my case as i went though the game a week before the third came out. The graphics were obviously better in Uncharted 2 you can look at any picture comparision to prove that. How is Tibet better than a desert? one has variety and one is just endless heaps of yellow sand.  The shooting being worse doesnt mean the gameplay was different, youre still doing the exact same type of thing as you did in the previous game only now its more repetitive and stale.

It was definitley worse than Uncharted 2, the scores only prove it further.

It's certainly my GOTY and most people I know who own it agree it's one of the best games made. The Cruise Liner moments are the best conceived in the series

My top 5 games of the year:
1) Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
2) Mario Kart 7
3) The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
4) The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
5) Pokemon White

Uncharted 2 was definitely better.

Lets compare... the openings of both games are extreme snoozefests, with Uncharted 3 being worse... UC2 picked things up from the moment you enter Nepal in the 5th chapter or so. UC3 took considerably longer, as things started picking up in the burning building level in France.

UC2's set pieces were far more memorable and action packed

It had -

1. The collapsing building

2. That rooftop view in Nepal <3

3. The first chopper fight was epic

4. The train sequence = best moments in Uncharted ever !

5. A fucking yeti attacking you

6. The tank battle

7. Getting to the monastery in those jeeps

8. Seeing shambhala for the first time

9. Helping out the wounded cameraman guy

UC3 on the other hand -

1. Burning building

2. Taking down that boat with a rocket launcher

3. Falling from the plane (was extraordinarily awesome)

4. Horseback fight sequences

5. Seeing Iram for the first time

First of all that is YOUR OPINION not everyones.  My OPINION is that uncharted 3 is by far the better game. I thought the opening to Uncharted 3 was awesome imo.

Now for starters the yeti attacking you is not really a big set piece,  and i don't think it should be considered a set piece. You did, however, get the train right as a setpiece and others. Set pieces are the environments like the desert, or the shipyard, now that was a stunning set piece. Set pieces can even be moving vehicles or events that involve the whole level like the cargo plane. Most of the ones in the uncharted 2 list are like mini set pieces that imo, should not really be considered set pieces. I see set pieces as huge events or environments in a game.

You can add the shipyard, cruise ship, desert, etc. to the uncharted 3 list.

I completely agree with you aldro. In my opinion uncharted 3 is the greatest game ever and is my all time favorite ahead of god of war 3 and uncharted 2. Its funny how some people believe that their opinion is fact and everyone else feels that way. I might add you on PSN, but i won't be playing uncharted 3 for a while because i am starting skyrim, and have battlefield 3, resistance 1, 2, 3, ico & shadow of the colossus, dark souls, and mirrors edge to start and/or finish.

It's not a Yeti it's the disguise the guardians use to scare off nearby people.

meh... the end battle sucked ass.. and imo Uncharted 2 looked better as a whole, it was far more consistent.. Uncharted 3 had some really "ugly" cutscenes and levels compared to the rest of the game.. pub, canyon ride, cruiship were beautifull but london, the airport, shipyeard where "ugly"... or let's say less high quality..

well first off it's shipyard not shipyeard. imo the shipyard was the third best looking part of the game behind desert village, and burning chateau. Can you show some examples as to why you think london, the airport, and shipyard were not as high quality.

Well sooooorrry grammar nazi... those levels looked plain and uninspired and now that I think of weren't all that fun to play.. metal box here, dark wall there, cover here, shoot 2 bad guys, climb up the ship, get behind cover, shoot 2 guys and repeat again, no destructable stuff .. it looked so 2006.. dark, grey, blue boring... been there done that... the water in the shipyard was good looking but it didn't do much..  desert village, burning chateau, Ubar are much better looking and those levels kept me on the edge of my seat..

ow.. and wtf is with the spiders? they didn't explain that did they?
