Forums - Sales Discussion - US weekly charts 8th - 15th april discussion

I dunno, God of War had over 1,000,000 pre-orders and it only sold 800,000 in a month. The sales might be off.

I don't understand the "amazing how the 360 games drop off the charts so quickly" Fight Night Round 3 is in the top 10 typically, and is a YEAR old. Some games drop pretty quickly, ie, GRAW 2, Tiger Woods 07, and others. Not every game is a Nintendogs.

SPM numbers are rather low - I woulda expected 200k or more for the 1st week. Hopefully it does 100-120k it's second week.

GH2 dropped quickly....Quite frankly, the numbers should be higher. There were, as of last week, 300,000 people on the leaderboards for the 360 version. Either it's doing gangbusters in Europe or the numbers could be escewed against it.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

well the NPD numbers confirm it sold about 800,000.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Do you actually have those NPD numbers?  This is a serious question, cause I think everyone would like to see them if you do.  Considering they haven't been officially released, I am unsure how you would though...

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Sorry, I stumbled into the other thread just a few minutes afterward.

Why? These "pre-orders" were retailer pre-orders, i.e. the number of units Sony shipped out. Sold through around 80% of its allocation, which seems right to me.

The 360 had a pretty good month, considering no "smash" hits. 4 titles in the top 10, although Im sure Ubisoft was hoping for more GRAW2 sales.

This should have been a great month for the PS3, but Motorstorm DEFINITELY disapointed with 200k sales. Not only did the software not sell that well, it wasn't a system seller.

Sure EA was hoping for more from Def Jam as well. They seem to have lost their grip on the charts as of late - this was definitely Sony's month as a publisher.
