Forums - General - Lamest game endings

Yes, just as there are awesome game endings, there are ones that deserve to be in the Lame-O-Town of Fame for their horrible endings.

1. Blacksite: Area 51 - After fighting through the game and having to blast a former teammate, there's a cutscene and you are on a Blackhawk. Did I miss something? You blasted your squad buddy - and instead of just taking a minute to ask why in the world it happened, you are whisked away. I felt soulless afterward.

2. Mass Effect: Don't get me wrong - I love this game, but at the end, whether you are a regenade or a paragon, you decide who will lead the next council (Udina needs a cap in his arse), and you get ready to bring the fight to the Reapers. Hello - this game rocks, but why in the DEVIL are you just advertising to the masses that there will be a Mass Effect 2 and 3 ... Lame.

3. Vice City: With the final Boss fights (Lance Vance and Tim Sizemore's character), I literally felt like I was on the set of Scarface. Instead of calling it 'Vice City,' they should have called it 'Miami' and had the indoor water fountain with the globe and the words 'The World is Yours.' As fun as the game was, watching a P-Diddy straight jack is awful.

Bioshock. Such a terrible ending for a great game.

I agree that the ending of Bioshock wasn't great (well it really was when u compare it to most other games, just didn't live up to the Bioshock standard). As for Mass Effect....Madskills, i like you mate, but your dead wrong. Mass Effect's ending was AMAZING. I was so pumped right the way through those last twenty minutes. And we knew before we got the game in our hands that there would be a 2 and 3.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

i always thought majoras mask for the n64 had a lam ending, for some reason was never satisief with it.... oh and i also didn't like the ending to final fantasy 8, barely remember it but i remember being not very satisfied with it (and i'm not hating i loved playing these games)

nowadays i dnt expect too much from the ending of a game, most of the time jus happy i found enough time in my scheduale to actually finish a game 4 once

LOL ... what up, Starcraft?

Oh, the final 20 minutes of the game was intense - and I soooo loved it. Even near the end when Shepard limps toward the captain, that rocks. But the final convos with who should be the new leaders of the council, that when my mouth just dropped. Ease into the end - but not like that. I just brought down Sovereign, I have killed Saren twice, and you think my mind would be on a political decision? Nah ... I am thinking about hitting Ashley again - or high-fiving my unit, not that. And then, Shepard just walks off and say 'There are still more work that needs to be done.' Man, I wanted more. I was impressed up until that point. I was just like 'You build it up to the ultimate fight between me and Saren ...' and this is the payoff? Nah ...

As I stated before, I LOVE this game, but the ending was completely lame. Then, I couldn't even access galaxies afterward! That's it - you have finished the game. Let me explore other worlds again - don't just end it! I had to restart the game to get all of the stuff I had missed.

Nah it always had to be clearly opened up to a sequel. And it would be unrealistic to go looking for old quest items once you've just declared civilization must prepare for a reaper invasion. I actually liked being given the choice. And it'll be interesting to see whether or not that choice really can be used as a saved game and added to the next game's storyline.
