good thread man..I fully expect ZGravity to do rather well so it won't be a surprise to me

HOWEVER surprisingly enough I have been reading some really really positive hands on previews about Unit13 :S apparently it's really well made

same about Army Corps of Hell..the game is apprently a lot of fun :D

i honestly hope almost all of these games find success tbh..new IPs and creative ones at that

Thank you. Looking at the poll, the majority see Gravity Rush being a surprise hit on Vita.

Patapon was in a similar situation. People didn't expect it to be good or to sell well, but there have been four games and I expect to see more on Vita.

Sony isn't very good at creating marketable IPs.
They have a lot of good IPs, but they really lack the ability to merchandise the way Nintendo does.
Sony IPs tend to have figures and models, whereas Nintendo IPs tend to have plushies, stickers, tv shows, etc.

Therefore, it's much harder for their games to become breakout hits.

Sony needs t-shirts, B rated movies, card games of the titles, commericals on at all times, tv shows over the adventures of Sackboy, music videos that have easter eggs of Sony games and products, same thing with movies, comic books that cover over characters and accessories.

I'd randomly think about this from time to time, and I've never figured out why Sony hasn't made a cartoon based on Ratchet and Clank.  It'd be a good show and be very marketable (merchandise)

Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper. They each could be successful shows. Possible do a show over inFAMOUS. The 'bigger' franchises should have movies. God of War, Uncharted, Killzone and maybe even a coming of age racing story, built around Gran Turismo.

Well I'd hold off of the movies, I doubt they can be done right.  But Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, easily could be turned into great shows.  I'm sure they can even get away with rendering the game offline on PS3s to save money (Like the cutscenes in Ratchet and Clank are TV worthy)

Uncharted had me worried, but there was a change of director recently. So I'm hoping that change will improve what was being made.
