Forums - General Discussion - What is your favorite Christmas Program?

Christmas wasn't a big thing yet in Holland when I was growing up, but the BBC was always broadcasting lots of great old movies around that time.

I loved all the big 50's movies, like Journey to the center of the earth, The thing, Ben hur, 20000 leagues under the sea, Bridge on the river Kwai, Around the world in 80 days.

And the 60's too with Spartacus, Butch Cassidy and the sundance kid, Goldfinger, From Russia with love, The pink panther, Le Gendarme de Saint-Tropez. Louis de Funès and Peter Sellers were my favorite childhood comedians.

I pretty much learned English from watching the BBC all the time.

Either A Christmas Story or Santa Claus Conquers The Martians.

It's A Wonderful Life is overrated.

I never saw it, how did Santa conquer the Martians?

He had a Patrick Swayze Christmas of course!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Does Home Alone count? I usually watch that every year. I used to grow up watching Charlie Brown Xmas too but haven't seen that for a while.

Actually I just sat down with the family on Sunday and Watched Home Alone 2! Had a great time!

The first two are the only ones worth watching for sure! They were both good times, don't think the wife has seen either but also don't know how she would welcome it. It sucks Netflix only has #3 on streaming :/

I would hope that she would be totally  into it , so you should make sure that she watches it this Christmas!

She wasn't born in the US so even though she has been here for the better part of her life a lot of these movies she doesn't know especially since she has never really had a big xmas. I was mentioning to her Charlie Brown Christmas and A Christmas Carol and she hadn't heard of either O.o; But will definitely try to get her to watch one of them this winter

“When I was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down “happy.” They told me I didn’t understand the assignment and I told them they didn’t understand life." - author unknown

I will say none since I find both Christmas Movies and Songs each slowly push me towards a mental breakdown caused by insanity, though I blame the fact that they start playing them non-stop from Thanksgiving till Christmas....

Former something....

A Christmas Story

Die Hard is the best Christmas movie of all time.

Love Actually, Scrooged, and Mickey's Christmas Carol are some of my favorites.
