Julia and Raine from Final Fantasy 8. Ellone as well, but I am not sure if she constitutes a minor character.

Julia's theme might have been my second favorite song from the game (behind the opening theme).

I was more a fan of the calmer music in that game. It was one of the first games to really take much advantage of orchestrated style music. Julia's piano theme, obviously being one of my favourites. Her scene was very small in the game, but I found it had a profound impact on the shape of the mood for much of the rest of the game; at least I started noticing this after my first replay; FF8 was one of the only games where my initial playthrough was probably my least favourite experience; in fact, I can only think of Ogre Battle and Ogre Battle 64 actually being similar in that respect (although there are likely more).

With Raine, probably the very final scene of her in the game (during the ending sequence) is the most emotional moment in the Final Fantasy series. It is really a shame that remaking these games is not feesible ideas, it makes me feel like we have passed the point where games instead of being limited by technology, are now being limited by the creator's need to fully utilize existing technology; in other words, technology is now too advanced to remake FF6, 7, and 8 - as odd as it sounds. My one beef with that is that I would be fully fine with a remake that doesn't take advantage of existing technology - make one that can exist with PSP or 3DS technology, I don't think that would take them 8-10 years to do (maybe 2 to 3).

If you like the opening theme for FF8 Liberi Fatali, there is an orchestrated remix beginning at the 10 minute mark of this:

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
