I'm not an AC fanboy, but I can still claim this: The PS3 bestseller so far.

Remember that Motorstorm and Resistance: Fall of Man was bundled with the 60GB PS3 in Europe...

This game was bundled in the PS3 Starter Pack (60GB PS3 + 2 controllers + Motorstorm + Resistance: Fall of Man). It wouldn't probably reach 2M before 2008 if the PS3 Starter Pack never existed. Likewise Motorstorm, Forza Motorsports 2 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance... Wii Sports would easily sell 2M without bundling (which they sold only in Japan), as Halo 3 did, and Gears of War. Both GTA4 and GT5 will easily pass this game without any HELP FROM the "Starter Pack"-bundling.

If you take the word franchise to refer to the inevitable trilogy, then yes.

when you say Franchise, does that include the inevitable sequels? Once they release AC2, it should hit 10 million in short order. However, AC will not get anywhere neat 10 million

@Game Over: If there were no bundles the best selling title on PS3 would be Resistance followed by AC. Resistance was bundled only for quite short period of time and only in Europe when PS3 wasn't selling very good (however there was a spike in its sales when price dropped). My estimate is that bundled Resistance contributed around 300k to Resis overall sales. The situation if different with Motorstorm which probably gained around 1 million of units thanks to bundling.

Althrough AC has a huge chance to overtake Resistance sales (even with bundled units): this week in others it was 58k vs 12k, the difference (worldwide) is a little over 700k, AC may chatch up in around 10 weeks. It is also yet to be released in Japan.

I think that 10 million for AC on all platforms is possible. X360 and PS3 sales will be at least 6 mil, so with PC and DS version is shold be close.

I don't think that Assasin's Creed on its own will get that high. 7.5 million is an extremely optimistic number. However, if it gets a sequel, it probably will reach 10 million for the franchise.

Certain types of games might be able to do it in the same situation, but 360 and PS3 games tend to have terribly short legs. 6 millions sounds more reasonable to me.

Um well the DS and PC versions are going to sell like crap haha. So it'd basically need the PS3 and 360 version to combine for 10 million which is highly unlikely. I mean hell we don't even know if the GTA IV versions combined will be able to hit that.
