Is the horse a sacred, brilliant or endangered animal? No? Then I can not understand what is wrong with eating horse meat. BTW, cat meat tastes like rabbit :P

It's a type of air-dried meat made in a region of the Alps. It's traditionally made with horse meat, even tought it can also be made with beef (naturally it has a different flavour).

No it's not really gamy raw :) I don't know how to explain...It's aged also it's salted and spiced, it's lake ham or salami, you don't have to cook it yourself, you buy it already processed.

I'm against it. It should be banned. Not because a horse is more worth than a pig but if we ban eating popular animals over time the mentality towards eating meat will change and we can start banning slaughter of less popular animals (pigs, chicken and cows).

Pigs, cows, chicken, fish--easy to raise, don't really do work, can't have sex with. We eat them.

Deer, Rabbits, Squirrels, etc.--difficult to catch, can't do work, can't have sex with. We eat them but too difficult to mass produce.

Horse, dogs, cats--loyal bonds with humans. Work hard (protect homes, work on farms, keep pests away). Great sex partners. We don't eat them.

Honestly? Horse meat is actually really good! I ate it some time ago at a burger store in a neighboring country...

i had horse meat a few times, but only as processed food, sausages, meatloaf.

i always were under the impression that it is not particularly good meat, since people usually used to resort to eating horse meat if they were forced to, like in war times.

but i guess it's just like whale, it started in war times to feed the masses and now it's a delicacy

If I ever get the chance I want to try it! I imagine it tastes no different than deer, zebra, mule, donkey, or gecko.
