Forums - Nintendo - IGN's Mario Kart 7 Review

You don't actually need more characters. There are only three different types of characters small medium and large all characters fit into those and are no more different then simple pallet swaps. Once you've played as one heavy character you've played as them all.

That being said it wouldn't be hard to add more characters to the roster since you don't need create any kind of balance since they'll only fit into the three types. As long as toad is there I'm happy.

I just listened to the whole review and read the whole review at IGN. I think maybe since this is on the 3DS and the last one was on the Wii that it is understandable that there are less characters. She is comparing the game to the Wii version. Unless the 3DS and the Wii have the same amount of power, then nevermind.

It's not about how much power it has for the lack of characters and features but the amount of space 3ds cartridges have in comparison to wii discs which are vastly larger.

Looking forward to adding more people on my 3DS to join battle. Bring it!

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

Blue shell whining?

Looks like they got rid of the only power up that was really a problem: The thundercloud.

The best thing--the option to turn off power-ups! I remember in Mario 64, I'd do time trials and be beating people by over 30 seconds. Then, I'd try Grand Prix and end up getting second or third place. Now, I can have a race of pure skill!

Can't wait to try out this Merror Mode she keeps talking about!

some levels looks amazing! I liked the one you're in the moon

I don't mind few characters, I never use all of them. 17 characters is still a lot imo

Yes the Thundercloud was a stupid item.

I always thought no one should get a Thundercloud if there are less than 8 people in the race. I would be playing with a mate, just the two of us online waiting for others to join and the person coming second/last would keep getting the Thundercloud, how the hell is that fair?
