While the information doesn’t reflect every retailer that participated in Black Friday sales nor does it provide date from foot and mortar stores regarding video game consoles, a SCEA spokesperson recently told Industry Gamers that its system say “strong demand” over the time period.

Uh huh, as if that actually translates into anything.

Their PR sounds worrying.

"Consumer demand for the PlayStation 3 system, peripherals and software was very strong during the Black Friday weekend. Gamers were quick to recognize the incredible value of the PS3 with its free access to PlayStation Network, Blu-ray capabilities, and the industry's best lineup of new titles, including the critically acclaimed Uncharted 3," an SCEA spokesperson commented to IndustryGamers.

Good for Sony, I guess.

strong demand means nothing. I expect the 360 to destroy the ps3 in America last week.

yea! what ZW said.

Of course I knew who would come right as he had the chance to spin anything good for the PS3 into something negative.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.

I wouldn't say it sounds worrying. He clearly states "very strong demand". Sony almost never releases NA numbers, so it really isn't surprising

We get two typs of Sony US PR these days, the type above, and the type above, but with some stas like 'double digit growth' SW was up 5% this year ect ect, I'm surprised we didn't get anything

Yeah cos I do that all the time. Please, if this was gamestop or wal mart fair enough, but the PR and the site in the OP don't indicate something worth shouting about.

Im impressed that you can derive so much information from something i would consider erroneous, seece.
i dont doubt that you may be right, but i am curious as to the assuredly strong evidence you have to support this conviction.
Maybe it will help me do better in the ten week countdown in the future if im able to garner such information from seemingly quirky omissions.
Oh also i recall you saying that 360 was more shipped to gamestop during bf but when i checked online ps3 was the hottest product.
