Forums - Gaming - BioWare's new game to be Command and Conquer?

Well it would appear now that the new short peice of footage was shown in Spike's teaser trailer and GameTrailers.com. The rumor mill has begun to spin and their is evidence to suggest BioWare's new title might be the upcoming Command and Conquer title. Look closely at what was said in the teaser trailer  "new direction, new game, new studio". Note it doesn't say new IP.

Victory Games is the new studio tasked by EA to bring back the Command and Conquer series. The studio founded last year is fairly new but is while being owned by EA is not a BioWare studio right? Well a recent LinkedIn post by a female employee known to be working on Command and Conquer inside Victory Games posted on her profile that BioWare studios was her place of work. The post has since been taken down but not before being reported by Eurogamer.

Victory Games also promised to unviel the new Command and Conquer title later this year. Well the time is running out and the title still hasn't been unvieled.Keep in mind the short peice of footage shown for the new game had a tank flying through a city scape firing rapidly at armored personel carriers in what appears to be a vicious fire fight. That would match a Command and Conquer title perfectly.

Now some may point out that BioWare's actual studio in Alberta specialized in Role playing games. But EA's description of the BioWare label clearly says "The BioWare label is a division of EA which crafts high quality multi-platform role-playing, MMO and strategy games," A release of the new Command and Conquer would fit perfectly with everything EA has made public. It'll be interesting if this new evidence proves correct, if the rumors and evidence prove false it will be even more interesting to see what this title actually is.

It all makes sense.

EA copies Blizzard to fight Activision

Maybe they'll turn it into a fps for the "new direction".

For some strange reason the thought of Bioware making a Command & Conquer game gets me excited! We'll see soon enough though.

How the mighty have fallen.

Never thought C&C would go so low.

There's already been one if I'm not mistaken....

Never played Command and Conquer...I was hoping for a new RPG tbh

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I actually would not mind a reboot of the series if done properly!

I like C&C very much, although I didn't like the direction that DAII had taken, other Bioware games are yet to disappoint me, hopefully they'll pull it off, I like RTS and this generation it has been pretty dry with the exception of two C&C games Halo Wars Supreme Commander  and Civ Revolutions amongst few others that contain ELEMENTS of RTS.
