After he mentioned call of duty, it hit me. There are about 7 separate call of duty games in this generation. How did I not see that. Don't really want square to take AAA Final Fantasy that far. Quality over quantity.

Well, Final Fantasy had a yearly release before on the PS1 days IIRC and the series didn't lose any quality but ofcousre this is SE not Squaresoft sooo...

Those games he mentioned aren't even RPGs. One would expect an RPG to take a little more time than an action title. Besides, I don't mind waiting longer for a Final Fantasy title, so long as they are worth the wait like the previous ones before XIII. For me, the release of a new FF title used to be event in itself, but that was before all the sequels re-releases and compilations.
