I never understood hate for the Wii, considering it is backed by arguably the best video game company out there, has the biggest library of games, has an interesting new control style, and is the cheapest of the bunch. Granted is has a lot of garbage on it, but I don't see why that takes away from a console if it also is plentiful with GOOD games, which the Wii certainly is.
The idea that the console doesn't have nearly as many good games as the HD consoles, which is the big point I hear from people, particularly on boards like these, is a myth. I have played dozens of Wii games that I have really enjoyed, and would clasify as good or great. What the REAL issue is the console lacks HYPED games, not GOOD games. The problem is many people haven't heard of, or at least enough about, a large portion of the Wii's good games. I really think a lot of people just get swept up in game hype, which the Wii doesn't have much of for their library, aside from the obvious ones like Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Zelda, etc..
And also the definition of "good" is a very relative thing on the Wii userbase, compared to the HD consoles, since it has such a diverse library. For instance, millions of people think Just Dance is great, but many of us probably not so much. Similarly we may love Muramasa but the average gamer is generally not going to be too into a game like this, assuming they've even heard of it.
The only legitimate reasons I can maybe see why some people hate Wii is its lack of solid online support and its mediocre graphics. Luckily for me I don't care too much about either of those things.
While I probably have clocked in far more hours on my 360, I appreciate what the Wii stands for the most of all because it seems to represent gaming at its arcade roots, which for my money, is the superior style of gaming. Not these linear interactive movies that seem to pass as games these days..
