So since we are talking about those chip yields. Essentially it delayed a possible 2012 release to 2013, but how expensive is that ordeal looking? And is the costumed difficult chip going to be worth the power or ease of development.

Unless MS is getting some great power squeeze without making development difficult or enhancing some other aspects really important to the console, it seems Sony is getting the far better deal out of this. Cheaper and more powerful, how can you compete? I don't think MS route is horrible, it is more Sony's route being really awesome, just like I find with the Vita.

In reality, even if it's 400SP part (which is higly unlikely at this point), it's at best some 60% faster. If it's 320SP part , we're talking about some 30-40%.

BTW, not sure where you get that WiiU's CPU is faster than Xenon - at 1.25GHz, it should pull around 8600MIPS, Xenon pulls 19200. This is not of course 1 to 1 comparsion, but it gives some insight of what those CPUs can pull in theory. Now, I know that the current trend is to downplay IOE CPUs, but in all honesty, that's not so black and white (just look at Intel's Itanium vs x86). Properly used, Xenon should still be quite faster than Wii's CPU. Of course, WiiU will offload audio to it's DSP, unlike 360, so there's that, but that's another topic....
