Great thread. I've been trying to find a list of specs to compare the three consoles, and this is as close as we are going to get until we know official specs.

Thank you. My goal is to be as realistic and accurate as possible so that it can fuel later fanboy arguements. ;)

SuperChunk, the A8-3850 is only capable of 1 thread per core, not 4 threads per core.

Hmmm. It must be copy/paste error when I added it. I looked everywhere I normally do and I can't find anything on threads per core, but it seems like they refer to one and instead AMD uses a new feature entirely.

idk, you're better at this specific tech that I am. I maybe you could expand on the differences in the CPUs as I don't think its as simple as the data I have in the 2nd post.

Wer did you get the specs?

Yay!!!

Updated with more info.

Its stacking up to be a very much equal three way race in tech power. Personally, I think Wii U is making the smarter choices.

CPUs are looking to be neXtBox>Wii U>PS4.
GPUs are looking to be nextBox>=PS4>Wii U

GPU race is a little more complicated tho. It really is going to depend on the tweaks each manufacture has done to the base chip. Off the shelf, I'd argue Wii U's GPU is greater than PS4s, but I know Sony will be adjusting that greatly, so in the end they will be slightly better considering its going with a design a few years newer.

All in all... the three will easily beat down current gen and will be remarkably similar in capabilities to each other.

Im a big fan of xbox. I hope this is true

It won't matter, their specs are so close it simply won't matter. Games will be negligible in differences so I really don't see why this is making you happy.

The AMD A8-3850 is not a multi-threaded CPU.   I don't think any mainstream AMD CPU is capable of simultaneous multithreading.  Even Bulldozer's "CMT" is more marketing than actual mutlithreading.

I did see one listing that displayed the number of threads as 4 which I can see why that would make it appear it does 4 threads per core but it actually means it runs 4 threads because it has 4 cores.

That may have been what I read and assumed incorrectly. Its been awhile since I added that Fusion information.

With that in mind, do you agree that PS4 might have the lowest powered machine, based on the specs in OP?

If these specs were to hold up as we see them listed, the PS4 would certainly be the least capable of the 3 systems.
