So CES makes me think that the PS4 will do 4k for sure. They are launching their own 4k content distribution service, so I'd imagine the PS Store, or its future video portion, will sell 4k movies. Now what are the possibilities we could see games running at 4k in the future given rumored specs? Like that APU + GPU set up?

If you're thinking games then it's doubtful many games would be 4K; about as many as their are 1080P games on PS3 this gen. Video on the other hand would be pretty easy so expect lots of 4K movies.

RE: neXtBox OS.... 1CPU and 1 to 1.5GB RAM is expected if its a modified Win8. That simply makes sense and adds up.

RE: power usage between consoles... just because they use 4x the electricity it doesn't mean they are 4x the power of WiiU. settle down folks. AMD uses more power and runs hotter than intel or ibm. WiiU has a heavily efficient design and architecture.

Will they be more powerful than WiiU? of course. Will they be anywhere near the differences that Wii to PS360 saw? nope. Closer to 2x is more likely. But it won't be too much longer me thinks for clarification on this.

Yes to 4K movies and other digital content. Don't expect ANY games in 4K, unless you count upping the resolution like WiiU does for Wii games to 1080p. It doesn't make the Wii games 1080p though.... just as nearly no game on PS360 is actually 1080p.

In reality, we'll still see a lot of 720p60fps or 1080p30fps and a some that are 1080p60fps.

Problem is that as devs get more resources... they use them and max them out again.

4x more power consuption means a CPU and GPU at least 8x more powerful than Wii U... Wii U is weak.

I very well could be wrong... but I still think they will be more in the 2x or 3x in power to WiiU. But, as I said, we'll know soon enough.

We've heard Xbox with 4, 6, 8, and even 16 CPU cores. IBM to AMD.

We've heard Xbox with 7xxx to 8xxx to APU config (where a 8xxxx is actually 7xxx tech) to a 8xxx mobile variant, etc.

There's still too much uncertainty in what is actually there. Surely they'll be far better in CPU as WiiU's CPU is not its selling point. But the GPU is good and most have argued its around 500GFLOPS. I expect ~1TFLOP for the others.

I expect 2.5 GFLOPS for PS4 but anything over 1.8GFLOPS is in line with my espectations... less will be a FAIL.

I think we are going to see 1080 60p as the standard. Less would be developer choice/error or graphical demand drain. I think we will see more 4k games than you might think.

what in the world is that list? I know what it is not... it is not a list of native 1080p games. Just because the back of the box says 1080p... it doesn't mean its native. Just upscaled due to PS3. Again, same as WiiU does with Wii games.
