^ All those seemed possible, although 4 cores seems too low imo, that is if the Kinect 2.0 takes more than 1 core. Or maybe Kinect will use another CPU.

Well in July, there's neogaf member said nextbox will use 1.6GHz Jaugar@8 cores(^the reply also mentioned about 8 Jaugar cores),this new rumor also matched the old rumor

And new Kinect won't take any core of CPU,please don't overestimated Kinect, not only that,Kinect won't be most important thing of nextbox, yes they need casual market, but doesn't mean only Kinect can do that

I personally believe MS will try to push Kinect as much as they can. It may not be their priority but it will play a really important part of the system.

The Jaguar will make sense if MS is planning to use the Kinect heavily, if not a 4-6 cores processor will be enough imo.

Can you translate that into English?

Kinect2 takes at least 1 module (2cores) in a Jaguar setup, there is no way around that.

No it won't take anything, and kinect will be degenerate into a accessories for nextbox, nextbox will have better successor(to get the casual market).

Now it's matter of time to know the final GPU specs from Wii U.

The console is already hacked.

http://www.ps3news.com/console-news/video-wii-u-teaser-the-homebrew-channel-on-wii-u-by-fail0verflow/

Sony really did a good job with security in PS3 o.O.

WiiU is NOT hacked. That is still running on Wii and within its sandbox on the WiiU. Watch the video, he clearly has to go into the Wii channel, which shuts off ALL WiiU functionality, to install and run THC. All they've done so far is update THC to work on the modified Wii OS that is within the WiiU's sandbox for Wii.

Hey chunk any updates on the Wii U GPU?  From all the latest reports I've been reading I have sumised that it is either an AMD Evergreen Design (updated to use HDMI 1.4a, UVD3, and stereoscopic 3D and such) or the most likely scenario is probably a Northern Island based architecture (which already has all those features built in) downclocked for Nintendo's purposes. In any case, I don't see the Wii U using anything higher than a Northern Island based GPU to the chargin of people who still insist that it might be a Southern Island design.

This thread feels like a desert now lol.

Any news about the final specs of the Wii U GPU?

Its barely been quiet for like 5 days? geez. :/

@oni-link
You're probably right and that is basically what's listed in the OP when you take into account the 6xxx rumors. The 4xxx was just the original and later they came out with statements that the GPU had been enhanced or similar.

As for a closer point to one specific card...nothing yet. Just 550MHz, uses newer tech like some DX11-esque stuff, and a lot of eDRAM.

I'm sure we'll know something more specific by January... especially now that its released in every major territory.

So far Redwood based seems like most likely choice, if we look at die size (5550/5570) - but it might be possible they managed to squeeze Turks inside (6570). Of course, there's always crazy possibility that it's something like custom shrank RV730 to 40nm, but I'm not sure that would make any sense at all.

Yeah the RV7xxx series wouldn't fit the requirements of the Wii U (since it basically needed a GPU that handled multi-display with ease).  Since the most basic GPU AMD has that utilizes Eyefinity is the 55xx series it is possible that Nintendo went for that at minimum.  Most practical would be the lines of 67xx series, seeing that it is a modified 55xx series designed for Blu-ray, 1.4aHDMI,  etc.

It would probably cost Nintendo more to do that.  A highly modified 750FX CPU with three cores and SMP was always a possiblity because of backward compatibility.  Yeah it's looking more like the Redwood or Turks at this point.
