Forums - Gaming - 1up FFXIII-2 Preview -- XIII-2 Feels Like the Game You Wanted FFXIII to Be (Played first 8 hours of the game)

As we can see with the second installment of games this generation, the reviews for FF XIII-2 will be 9.3-9.5!!!!

Nice, although I didn't minded the linearity in FF13 except maybe that you can't return to a zone you previously completed. What bothers me are the characters, I hated Serah in FF13 and I hate having monsters in my party. I really hope I can use other characters aside of Serah and Noel but I doubt it

3DS FC :  4339 - 3326 - 7693. Add me :) Nickname Tin

I think it will be better recieved critically but it will still be nailed by those who want to hate it.

This is exactly how I feel word for word, the whole thing!

It has been confirmed that Noel/Serah are not the only useable characters in the main party. So have no fear.

I hope the story is up to par with previous iterations (Not XII) ...I think the compelling story in FFX (as well as the temples and mini-games) Helped hide the fact that it was quite linear. From what I've seen everything looks good...except the story...and Having just played FFX there were some cheesy moments but nothing that would take you out of the experience for too long from the Launch trailer of XIII-2 I get the opposite feeling..I don't know if it was the music they chose or the dialogue but God it was something awful

Agreed.

Cause Toriyama doesn't know how to write if his life depended on it.  I mean, Final Fantasy XIII's story practically wrote itself; it set everything up for such an emotion ride, and yet he managed to screw it up.  But it looks like a lot of the gameplay flaws are being addressed atleast.

Good to know, I hope it doesn't take too long, like how long XIII didn't allow me to change my party

~*lol I just wanted to use lightning that whole time :p - - - I'd jump for joy when it was her and hope's turn for story progress

I never tried an FF before FF13, and it disappointed me as i found it out to be. too linear and repetitive. I hope as they say this addresses it, because i know i would be into a more open world FF game
