"Look like Zelda only hit 500k FW in the US"

And that's a bad thing? I think not; it's still a very good number. It's even said to be breaking records. Nintendo isn't disappointed with the results.  Hey, even in Japan it didn't do too bad in its opening week; its #1 and cleared about 165k, roughly about on par with the debut of OCARINA OF TIME 3D.  It's not as good as other ZELDA openings but considering the circumstances in Japan, it's still a solid debut.  Nothing to cry over spilled milk for in the least.  Of course whether it outsells TP in Japan is another matter, but for now, this is not a bad number in the least.

^^I think Reggie said it was the fastest selling Zelda ever or something?

I wonder if it'll make 1 mil first week

People will say that the game failed just because they can.  Evidence tells otherwise.

Japan : 150k
Americas : 950k
Europe : 300k

@JTurner82
Im only dissapointed compared to the preorders this site predicted. As you can see from most peoples predictions, its much lower than we were all led to believe.

Like you said the news isnt all that bad with it breaking past records, but I think that says more about how small in stature Zelda is becoming unfortunatley. I do disagree with you about it doing well in Japan, I think it'll drop off very quickly and get no where near TP numbers, time shall tell.

Off topic: Whats up with the quote tab not working on this site? It hasnt worked for ages now.

wow, thinking about this for a sec.

Looks like MRKs prediction of 700k will win the americas prediction.

I think my prediction of 275k for EMEAA is looking good seeing as it only sold 58k in the UK which is the biggest market in EMEAA...

and we already know it sold less in Japan than the lowest prediction here of 170k.

That would mean the lowest predictions would win all 3 regions, surely that confirms this has sold way below people expectations? On this site at least.

We don't know that.  Nonetheless I still stand behind the point that it's doing solid so far.  It's opening numbers are nowhere near bomb territory, and like I said, it could have been much worse.  As far as whether it passes TP numbers, that remains to be seen, but I do at least expect it to pass that, even if you want to disagree with me and nail me down on it.'

Even LuigiDude on NintendoWorldReport says "Since Skyward Sword uses a more colorful artstyle again, it'll probably do better then Twilight Princess in Japan.  Either way it's guaranteed to do somewhere between 500-900k since that seems to be around the size of the modern Zelda fanbase in Japan."

People predicting more than 1M FW?

hahaha

Looks like it's going to be worse than the worst-case scenario

The question is : do those European sales include UK sales?

Hmmm, so in Europe it still manages to clear 186,000 for its first week. I honestly was expecting much worse for all three territories, which is why I'm probably one of the few who doesn't find these sales too underwhelming. They could be better, yes, but they could be worse, too.
