Kind of. I still like the same genres as before, but I put more research into the games/systems I'm interested in now, and I'll give more games a try.
For instance, I always loved RPG's, but before I would just buy a Final Fantasy game, or a Paper Mario title because of it's name. Now I find that I'm more interested in more niche titles (like Lost Odyssey and Tales of... titles, or Catherine if you consider that an RPG), and I'm begining to appreciate WRPG's more and more. However I think the WRPG's are actually just getting better.
Also nowdays, I'm more into the Racing genre then before. This is probably because I know a lot more about cars thanks to Top Gear, and I know which cars are fun to drive. I remember my first car in GT3 was a PT Cruiser...man if I knew what I did now, then, I would be ashamed of myself.
As for Nintendo in particular, this gen I was really disappointed in them. Yes they managed to turn out the best Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Zeldas, Metroid, Super Mario and Advance Wars games in over a decade, but that's it. they managed to make good iterations of old franchises, mostly by sticking to the formulas in their better games. Wii is an awesome system, but what makes it awesome is newer versions of Nintendos best games for the last 20 years. Of their newer IP's, Nintendo has really dropped the ball. They pushed Pikmin 3 to Wii U, they won't localize large Japanese titles, and they themselves have not made a single major new IP.
So for Nintendo, I still play their games, just no where nearly as much as before (Over 1,000 hours into Mario Kart 64, probably 10-15 hours into Mario Kart Wii, both my most played N64/Wii games)
