I can think of a few series that went from 1-3 this generation. Nintendo can be considered slow at cranking their titles out compared to most companies that spew out sequels.

Exactly, it's taken nearly 20 years to get to Mario Kart 7. With only 1 game per system (except GB which didn't get one)
yup and there is an animal crossing coming as well! and a pokemon game and a metroid and most likely starfox and so on :P
