"The story isn't very good. T"

Arg. Let's say it isn't as obvious as in other games. You have to figure some things out for yourself and you do not get told other at all. This may not be your idea of a good story but for me it created some of the best atmospheres of any game.

Half-Life2 is one of of the best games available.

I love the orriginal half life, but just couldn't get as in to half life 2 personaly. Still liked the game though.

You're forgetting the fact that it's a game - and a great one at that.

The physics-based puzzles are simply ingenious and the somewhat linearity of the game is a good thing, as it provides for great pacing.

The story is great and while not a lot of answers were given, you could have derived a lot of them throughout the game. The game also features one of the best level designs I've ever seen.

As far as the striders go, whenever you come across a big or infinite supply of ammo for your rocket launcher, that's when you're supposed to kill them. I don't see how one could do it any other way seeing as you can only carry 3 of them, which isn't enough to put them down.

Actually... at the risk of making me look a further cynical bastard. I have one gripe with this.

Making a sea-saw with bricks and wood / barrels and metal sheeting is not puzzling. Putting plugs back into walls is not puzzling.

Sorry, it's just that back before Halo 2 and Half-Life 2 came out, people I know who've never even played Half-Life are telling me how much worse Half-Life 2 will compare to EVERY aspect of Halo 2. I guess that is where I also started to not care much for the Halo games since once Halo 2 and Half-Life 2 came out, I laughed at how much their hype had let me down. I even got my friend who trash talked Half-Life 2 the entire time to play it and he was amazed when he played it.

Halo is the superior series. The worst game of the series, Halo 2, is a better game than Half-Life Episode 2.

You have to put Half Life 1 in perspective. It was the first notable FPS to incorporate a narrative successfully into it's game play, even if that was a fairly simple narrative.

As for questions, name me one game where you couldn't ask "a million" questions about that world without getting any answers. Hell, you can ask them about this world too!

ben playing it on pc or 360 shouldnt matter if i dont like the game in general, i hate the art direction, and just most things about it
