Forums - Sales - Sony put on negative credit watch, ¥90 billion loss predicted for fiscal year 2011

"(around £720 million) for the current fiscal year, representing a fourth straight year in the red."

Wow didn't realize Sony had it that bad. 4 years posting net losses and now more interest rates? Now that Irealize it MS is the only one of the three who posts profits, not just 3 billion net profit per quarter but even their Xbox division.

Maybe Sony should stop buying developer studios and doing price drops

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Makes you wonder what it will take to get these guys back in the green? Sony has been pushing hard though with its new games and system. Nintendo seems to be in the same boat. Any other reasons?

for a business major you didn't even bother to assess the situation then comment on each companies worse divisions and what you think would help improve each division. i'm persoanly not sure what Ninty does as a whole other then games consoles and software. do they still make toy's?

Ninty is pretty easy just from what i know. SkyWardSword should help Ninty get back in the green but the manufacturing of a product yet be released and the loss there taking on each 3ds sold are likely hinders of there business.

When Wiiu launches it should help Ninty get back on track as there blockbuster software will likely acompany the launch of te system leading to profits once again but you new that.

Sony has many and it seems there worst is there TV division. it seems the cost to manufacture may be the best place to start for a high end company like Sony. they have to find somway to cut those cost. i know its more then that like the $, euro, and the cost of shipping to places they don't have manufacturing plants.

also the PSN hack, natrual disasters, and the one plant that vandles set on fire and stole product from. i'd still like to know how there music, computer, and movie division's are doing. cut the salary of every employee making more then 5m a yr.

well looking at Sony they loss less then Ninty so its not that bad yet but Ninty will likely have the biggest and fastest turnaround. considering Sony lost less i'd say a few divisions helped curve an even greater loss.

Minor. And I come here to get answers, not give answers.

either way you should know better.

Put an environmental angle on it then you can call me. but i don't have your number?

ok (S.A) they need to cut cost and plan to go green.

That would be great! They should go green, it will save them in the end! Fines, higher cost, etc. I am sure they have already started this though.

Sony is the only one of the big3 in the green but they are not completely green but they are close. MS is way in the mid red and Ninty are closer to green.

Hopefully Vita will turn it around. I will purchase the Vita on day 1 but I'm officially boycotting any new PS console.
