Suppose it all comes down to personal preference instead of "X game is better than Y",
Example: I love Gears of War, but Uncharted has no appeal to me whatsoever, yet i'm sure it's vice-versa for other people.

I believe you don't understand how the internet works.
If you have a game for a particular platform, then a somewhat similar game on a competing platform automatically sucks, even though you have never played that game. You are postive of this and must defend your game and console of choice at all costs and as aggressively as possible.
So now I should say 'What are you saying? GoW sucks! Uncharted is SO much better! And BTW GT rapes Forza.'. But I'll let it slide because you seem to be new in this.

I do actually agree (shockingly...).
While Gears has better cover mechanics, Uncharted is just a much better designed game, particularly with reference to checkpoints, as I am dieing constantly on Insane, but am more annoyed about the spacing of checkpoints than anything else
Wait. Shouldn't the rage be that they didn't give a 96 score?
Standard Sony PR, would expect same from MS or Nintendo.
But personally, the T rating for Uncharted 3 makes me laugh. Seeing people hit by grenades directly don't even loose their clothes....where as in Gears they actually burst apart spectacturaly. Thats just me.
Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Well each has their own way to appeal to core and casual.
MS is now doing the 50/50 approach, making mature rated exclusives like Gears and Halo but also marketing the Kinect casual titles like Dance Central.
Sony on the other hand is making core titles with both a healthy blend of core gameplay but lacking anything that would warrant a M rated label and scare off younger crowds, with some exceptions offcourse like GOW.
To each their own I suppose
