Forums - General Discussion - Twas the Night Before Christmas-Mafia Round 35

Jeez hat.. I've been waiting all day to say something along those lines, but I was hoping Vette would return first. Only reason I voted Wonk first thing instead of Vette is because I knew I'd get a response from Wonk.

So yeah, Wonk has just been bad. But bad doesn't have to equal mafia. If it did, I'd be sure hat(at least on the surface) is scum too :P

I'd still prefer Vette, but I'll put moreno in the lead.

Unvote: Wonktonodi

I will send radish a message seeing if he wants to replace Son1x due to (apparent) popular demand.

Now, here's why.

First of all, his edit didn't exactly earn him trust points with me. I don't believe he was coached to do it, I even find this idea preposterous even if Mafia is allowed to talk during the day. What I believe is that upon rereading his post, he realized it made him look bad and he corrected it. That kind of move could be done by a newb townie or by newb scum but I'm convinced it's more likely to happen if you're scum.

Then during the rest of Day One , moreno barely mentionned Silver-Tiger and preferred voting for Wonk. The only time he mentionned ST was when he unvoted Wonk and said he found ST suspicious but didn't want to vote just yet.

Then comes Day Two, where he opens with an analysis of the Mafia's decision to kill Metal_Gear and where he also shows he wants to vote for Wonk but settles for a FoS. My guess is that the fear of being accused of bandwagoning got the best of him. He later reaffirmed his suspicions of Wonk, without mustering the courage to vote once again.

Afterwards, he continued to analyse the Mafia's kill in these posts : [post] [post]. This I find very scummy coming from a new player. Why so much insight into what the Mafia might be thinking? I wouldn't mind it so much if someone had asked him to give his thought about it but that's the very first thing he mentionned on Day Two. Everytime he posted about it, I've had this feeling he was posting with such assurance because he was part of the discussion that led to the choice of Metal_Gear as a victim.

Okay, so you're still gonna use my first post ever in the Mafia, my rookie mistake as en excuse to call me scum? I saw that, and realized I sounded silly, so I edited, no one ever told me editing was wrong.

About the second the part, I didn't truly follow ST's argument with detail, so that was why I didn't vote, I didn't really get the argument.

Next, okay, I didn't want to bandwagon without a strong argument, that would just make me look weak and make my statements even less coherent, I wanted some major proof before doing a vote, I didn't want to do such a baseless argument like day one.

Finally, I was just analizing Mafia's way of thinking, maybe it was pretty irrelevant, but I just felt like  I needed to contribute somehow.

Also, I fail to see how votes suddenly switched to me, Trucks posted something to try to make look like scum, and suddenly everyone seems to follow his lead because...?

... because they think he made a well founded accusation against you and you are not even puting up a good defense?

How much Mafia experience do you have, meaning have you played elsewhere or read games before?

Why are you worried about how you look?

Why did you feel the need to contribute? What do you think your comments actually added?

I have 0 experience in Mafia, this is my first Mafia game ever, so I'm still catching up with you people.

Well, the reason I'm worried of how I look is because I do not wanna be mis-lynched so early in the game, so I'm trying really hard to clear any wrong theories out of me.

Well, I felt the need to contribute because I felt that was better than staying lurking doing nothing about it.

About the second question, well, I really think my MG's death comments got pretty worthless, that was just the first thing that came in my mind.

hoho, I see a future prodogy in the game of mafia. How exciting!

ahem, anywho.there's a lot more to it in my eyes at least. You will pick up as you play along. Other than trucks reasoning that is.

For example. You found it necessary to give your longest post when put under pressure :) which means you are 1- following the game and and only felt the need to post when needed -to defend yourself. In other words You're around but not contributing 2- Youre between lurking and active lurking. Both mafia tells IIRC.

I criticize you because I see a new potential mafia player. I want you to grow and become a regular in future games.

I am putting all my facts, and I know all of that is true, he is just trying to scum me because of my mistakes.

can you list any other reasons besides peoples mistakes and powerroles to uncover scum? Well maybe some supernatural power that allows long distance mindreading, but I haven't heard about that existing...
