Obviously I was mistaken, but look at ST's language:
"You're a vengeful mafia member, right? Come on, admit it."

It's not capitalized, and it's got "a" in front of it.  At the time I took this to mean he didn't mean it as a title or proper noun, but upon reflection I understand that that doesn't necessarily follow.  However, the kicker was "member".  This really drove home in my mind that he wasn't saying "vengeful mafia" the role, but "a vengeful member of the mafia" because he just revenge voted.

ST's corrected me, but your question still had to be answered since it was about my own thinking on the matter.

That's quite a good explanation actually. When you put it like that it's actually odd that ST really did mean his role rather than demeanor.

I don't really get what you're trying to say. Please explain. I meant the role, as I was looking for an explanation on why MDJ acted the way he did.

Please clarify what you meant by "vengeful"

"About moreno's edit,I don't think he knew what he said looked scummy, nor do I think possible scummates would have pointed it out, causing him to edit it."

ANd this is the only post I could imagine you were responding to, mine:

"Something is very sour about that. You call yourself a noob (and edit like one) but then remove something that looks incriminating. Why? Who briefed you?"

I think someone told him it was bad and from past experience, there aren't many people who would think that. It's generally paranoid people who do. SOoOoOo, if it's true he was briefed, it kind of gives me a list of people who might have said that.

But yes, there you have it.

Oh, so it's simply how you interpreted it. Clearly that line means I think it is possible for scummates to talk. As does the last line of http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=4286000

I guess I'm of the same thinking as you, I just didn't think anyone would be paranoid(and plain bad) enough to say something like "No, edit that!" or anything similar that would have caused the edit. Something  like "don't do that again" or advice on how to deal with any questions that might come up, sure.

So what makes you think they can talk?

I don't even know where to begin with this post.

I haven't even considered it a possibility. This whole time I was thinking he was told to avoid talking about things, not some in the moment reprimand. Yet when I look back, it's like every post from you is referring to active day-talk. And now I feel like you're being sarcastic in your first line, when I never even gave it a second thought that that was what you were talking about. It's like you're upset at me for some reason.

And then you say we're the same?

wtf has gotten into you linkz?

What makes YOU think they can talk?

So what did you mean by "Opposed to Linkz, I think there has been a decent amount of briefing in the mafia thread, and I'm usually only for lynches on day 1 because mafia haven't had time to compose their strategy and it's a good time to get them to trip up all over each other." And if you didn't think it was an "in the moment reprimand," how could you say, "I think someone told him it was bad?"

Which line are you referring to as being sarcastic?

I say we're the same in that I don't think many people would think it was bad and warn moreno in such a way that it would have caused him to edit the post. Where we differ is I don't know anyone who is that freakishly paranoid.

I just hosted a round where mafia could talk during the day, and since there weren't any complaints I think Baal may have taken kindly to the idea.

I think mafia were given a window to tell newbs what to expect, and what to avoid. I don't recall exaclty, but if I said "I think someone told him it was bad" I can guarantee that I meant someone told him it was bad in the first place. ie; at the beginning of the game, ie: briefing. I think he spaced, recognized the positin he was in, and corrected it.

The line where you say "clearly" because none of that is very clear to me, it's definitely interpretable, but I wouldn't say clearly.

Ok, I will agree with you on that. I also don't know anyone who is that paranoid. But I know people who might've said "watch out for X. Don't say X. Stay away form X situations". I just don't know how you're reading these things as me saying them. I feel like you slipped by originally saying "talk" when I said "briefed" and now you're sticking to it. What next, you're going to tell me you don't know what a briefing is? Man, I said it three times, and three times you referred to active discussion. And now I have a headache, because it really is starting to look like you're going to admit to just that, and there's nothing I can do.

And in my experience there has always been a window of several posts before talk ends. That is the norm, and that is more than enough time. Whether it happened right then or earlier doesn't matter. I attempted to hit him too close for comfort, and he evaded it. Well, not entirely, but I can't argue with his reason.

Sigh..

But.. if you're right, and somebody came on and warned him...well..these are the players I remember being on at that point,

Heph, Hat, ST, Trucks, MG (and myself)...there may have been others but I'm too tired to look. adios.

This is also dependent on a flip of scum

Linkz's argument is that someone DIDN'T come in and warn him because they wouldn't have done so in a way that caused moreno to go and do something as dumb as edit his post.

That is exactly the reverse of "somebody came on and warned him".

3.  Then hat jumps in, inflicting the additional indignity of accusing Wonk of parroting TOS when if anything the opposite argument could be made --

That made me think of something very similar.

When ToS said to Wonk, something like "but according to your own words 2 votes shouldn't be enough for pressure"

Hat said "that was...epic"

But really, wonk was making a joke in the first place by mocking ToS, who's argument against wonk is that 2 votes is enough pressure.

Interesting that it's all the same players, and that Hat stepped in twice on ToS' side.

indeed it's interesting... that too http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=4288459

Vengeful as in:

"Vengeful player is a one that, when lynched, is awarded the ability to kill any other player as they die." from mafiascum.net.

The role came to my mind because I had the same role last round.

I don't have much to say right now, wonks explanation was pretty good just weird that he waited until someone asked him for it.

After the modkill, I'm starting to think a no lynch right now, but my mind could change.
