Forums - Movies & TV - Top Movies of the 80's elimination thread! Big Trouble in Little China and Die Hard tied for first place! Sudden death?

New rules start as of this post.

Count for my records.

Don't worry Joker I will get the dead ones.

Two questions:

1-You have added the new movies with 15 health points, but the old ones still have their old ones. Are you going to change them all to 15 or will you leave it as it is now?

2-Since the "old thread" is dead with the new rules and movies, do we have to wait the 3 hours to vote again?

Oh, and I'm sorry to say this but I don't like what you did in the OP, putting all the new movies that way looks bad.

Please excuse my bad English.

what did you think that bonus round thread was about? people wanted the movies that were not there from the beginning.

I thought you were going to add a handful. Not a single one of those added movies is as good as Die Hard, Terminator, Aliens or Raiders. I mean really Superman 4?

I had to give everyone a chance to have their movies. If everyone or a majority thinks i allowed too much  will change it to 1 or 2 a piece. Lets figure out what its gonna be by midnight though because that is the deadline to have everything finalized. i will do my part which is editing  and doing my next count. rules will make it go faster though since  HP is 15 and plus minus has changed. i would hate to see you go, but I will do whatever. Consider this a rough draft. Final due tonight.

I'll see how it is after the update, but you should take out ones that really dont stand the slightest chance of winning. Blade Runner, Predator, First Blood and such are ok because they at least may have a few people vote for them, but things like White Buffalo and The Gate, most people wont even have heard of those.

OK, time to start again. Let's see

+Goonies

-Commando

I think you added WAY too many bonus movies. You should have made bonus movies a thread of it's own with that many titles. There are more bonus movies then survivors after all, and most don't deserve to be above the eliminated movies IMO.

If I knew you were going to add this many Bonus titles, I would have suggested letting this thread finish on it's own, and then take the top 30 and put them against the bonus titles, all stating with equal health.

On the other thread you let people add up to 10 movies each. That is way too much, you should have only added the movies who got more then 3 or 4 unique votes (from different people). At most you should have added 5 movies, not 30. If you switch to this method, give everyone who voted for a film that you removed off the list a free vote.

Also if you do that, I vote, Grave of the Fireflies stays, but if 3-4 different people didn't vote for it, then it doesn't deserve to stay.
