Probably holidays 2012, but there is always the (slim) chance that Nintendo has decided to adopt the Apple-styled release schedule; and by that I mean, releasing soon after E3 to maximize the benefit of the conference.
For several years I have wondered why console manufacturers haven't tried this ... Essentially, keep as much a secret until E3 that you can and have a massive show and release 4 to 6 weeks later. It would be difficult to pull off, but it has the potential to allow a manufacturer to maximize the benefit they get from certain press. Basically, while people are still excited by what they saw at E3 you could be releasing more and more details about the system and its line-up allowing you to dominate the news cycle leading up to your system's release, if you have a good launch you would have lots of news of your system's popularity heading into the holiday season, and if you could follow this up with a relatively strong holiday line-up for a launch system you could clean up in the holiday season (provided you have the supply of systems).
