Hmm, it's quite easy to tell who has the ball from the way the players are running/reacting, though, this might not be immediately obvious to those watching for the first time. The MLL are actually working on a technology which highlights the player with the ball (I don't know whether it highlights the player, the ball, or the head of the stick), which is meant to be used next season - the very fact they're developing this technology shows that your complaint is a common one.

Yes, you can tell who has possession by how the people are moving on the field, but this often comes at the cost of a delay. It's especially damning when it comes to scoring, because you sometimes only really know what happened once you see a replay. You don't have to pay this much attention to a game of American football or football which makes these sports immediately more enjoyable to watch.

Good to hear that they try to address this problem, although it probably won't make me watch this sport.


Well, I personally have never had problems just following the ball. I didn't even know the problem existed until I heard about the highlighting technology. I never had any trouble watching hockey, either. In fact, the only sports I've had problems watching were American football, and rugby... I had no idea what the hell was going on (and still don't in rugby).
