Forums - Sales - EA's Battlefield 3 Ships 10M Units In First Week

Gamaustra

In a Gamasutra-attended conference call, EA CEO John Riccitiello announced that the company's major first person shooterBattlefield 3 has shipped more than 10 million units since its launch earlier this week.

He also added that EA has already begun receiving reorders for the game to help replenish stock.

The DICE-developed Battlefield 3 launched October 25 across the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

For comparison, EA's previous Battlefield title, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, released in March 2011 and has sold 11 million copies to date.

Hmm....wow. Didn't expect that high.

So Modern Warfare like sales is pretty much confirmed.

If only Origin would activate my damn product key.

It's all well and good, but my online code didn't work with my LE copy, so I was unable to go online, instead I was burdened with a pretty mediocre single player so far.

Cocked up launch either way.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

should do btw 12-17m

Jesus fucking christ that's a lot.

I'm glad its doing well. I just wish I could win the lottery so I could quit working and focus on gaming more. I'd so have upgraded the PC for that version if that were the case vs the PS3 version I have now. Not that it isn't fun... but its a A- where I could have the A+.
