You didn't read my post. If you did, you would know I discussed HOW you reached the goal, not the form of the goal. And the rest of your post is based on that fallacy.



A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Well you need to play SMB1, and see how many ways paths you can travel to the goal (hint, this is not about going right), and then see haw many paths you can travel to the first star in Mario 64 (you can't count the cannon, but the way, since it isn't unlocked).

And it doesn't matter if you still don't see it then, the people that don't buy these kinds of games do, and that it why it won't sell as big as you think, no matter how many times you insist otherwise.
