Swapnote Messaging App Coming To Nintendo 3DS In December

Come December, you’ll be able to send messages your other 3DS-owning friends via a new app. Nintendo are calling this Swapnote, which sounds a little reminiscent of Flipnote Studio (right) on Nintendo DSiWare.

Swapnote will let you send 3D messages over both StreetPass and online. You’ll be able to hand-write messages, and also include pictures and recorded sounds. When it launches, Swapnote will be a free app. In the U.K., it will be called Nintendo Letter Box.

Something to note: Since Swapnote is a separate app, don’t expect to be able to fire it up in the middle of another game to message your buddies. That capability still doesn’t exist within the 3DS.

Umm yah I am stunned by this announcement. Apparently you will be able to exchange photo's and messages via Street Pass and Spot Pass. This essentially means a pedo could take a picture of his privates and put them up sending them to every individual that passes them. This is a very bad idea and I can see it back firing big time. Remember when Mario Kart enabled you to draw a logo on the front of your kart. People drew dicks and vagina's and stuff and parents freaked.

Imagine how out raged parents will be when they find out some sick bastard can send their little child a real 3D picture of his or her private parts.

When the service becomes available the user should have to sign an agreement saying they are older then 18, since they will undoubtably be exposed to pornographic material if they travel with Street Pass and Spot Pass on. Parental controls should prohibit the use of this App and Nintendo should make a very public announcement that this app is coming out.

They should ensure parents are aware their children can recieve 3D images without their or their parents consent!
