Konami plans on releasing the games in Metal Gear Solid HD Collection as separate PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade downloads too.

 

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition will sneak onto PlayStation Network first. A digital version is slated for release on November 10 for 4,480 yen ($58) in Japan.

 

Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 are slated for release two weeks later on November 23 for 3,480 yen ($45) each. You can also get both games in a package for 4,980 yen ($65). All three Metal Gear classics will also be available on Xbox Live Arcade sometime in 2012.

 

Yes, the price for each game looks high in US dollars, but these are actually cheaper than the packaged versions in Japan. We’re not sure what price Konami will charge for downloads in North America and Europe.

Wait so how much is the whole retail set going to cost? I was assuming it was going to be around $40, but looking at the download prices for the individual games it doesn't look like it will

Buying a PS2 to play these old games to relive nostalgia would be a lot cheaper than paying a premium price to play a HD remake of the same old game. These old games can be bought for $5 to $10 each.

And playing your copies in PCSX2 with a PS3/360 controller is gonna get you both ;)

I'm buying the collection because I'm a MGS fanboy.
