I love how everyone in this thread automatically assumes people who like JD over DC must like it because: 1) its not really dancing 2) can't dance 3) likes to just wave an arm 4) insert additional negative trait Are you all that simple you can't think in broad terms? oh noes, its not HD and bloody it must be for kidzzzz. Again the difference is just like Mario Kart vs Gran Turismo. One is an arcade game meant for humor and fun first and foremost while the other is meant to simulate the action as best as possible. They are different in design and ouput. It doesn't mean those that prefer Mario Kart: 1) are not really racing 2) can't drive/race 3) just likes to throw shells 4) insert additional negative trait related to racing Its just fun for specific environments. I still hold on to my circumstantial evidence that JD (Wii) is by far the better game for most people, especially in party atmospheres. I think the FAR larger sales prove this point over and over again. I suspect many of you have parties with like 5 people so waiting in line to play is no issue. However, mine usually have 20 or more peeps so waiting for one person to play (DC) or two at a time even (DC2) just sucks and is so borrrrrring... hell, depending on night and number of people you may get to play a couple times only. Whereas with 4 players at a time the whole party plays numerous times and you really get great challenges going on different songs.

I understand what you mean, I have played to almost all dancing/music games on different platforms. Would it be DDR, The Hero/Band series, Karaoke, Just Dance and Dance Central. JD is a party maker that's for sure. Anyone can grab the Wiimote and have fun and the dance routines are meant to not be too complicated too. The colors and the songs have been choosen to appeal to a broader audience.
DDR/Hero/Band series are not as good in parties since they're harder to play. You have to know where to put your hands/finger/feet on the different controllers to play properly.
@ bolded: That's how you view things really. Just because you couldn't get more than 5 people to play DC doesn't mean that other people can't. More people doesn't make a greater party. People don't line up to play DC, they just do it, just because you're not the one recognised by the Kinect doesn't mean you can't have fun. The same can be said about JD on Wii. If you think you look stupid doing the routine in the back then don't do it, to me it's like there's music, there's alcool, there's people having fun... what else do you want?
