Konami is making the PlayStation Vita launch lineup even more crowded. Retailer Famicom Plaza reports that Konami has set December 17 as the launch date for Mahjong Fight Club and Asphalt Injection. Both titles were previously announced for the system, but neither as a launch title.

With these two games, the Vita's impossibly large launch lineup looks like this:

  • BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend (Arc System Works / Fighter)
  • Project NOELS (Arc System Works / Music Player (Download Only))
  • Browser Sangokushi Touch Battle (AQ Interactive / real Time Simulation)
  • Fish On (Kadokawa Games / Sports)
  • Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 (Capcom / Fighting Action)
  • Dynasty Warriors Next (Tecmo Koei / Tactical Action)
  • F1 2011 (Code Masters / Racing)
  • Army Corps of Hell (Square Enix / Army Action)
  • Lord of Apocalypse (Square Enix / Action RPG)
  • Shinobido 2 (Spike / Ninja Stealth Action)
  • Power Smash 4 (Sega / Sports)
  • Uncharted: Chizu Naki Bouken no Hajimari (Sony / Action Adventure)
  • Sawari Ma Kuru (Sony / Mini Game Collection / Download Only)
  • Minna to Issho (Sony / Visual Friend Network / Download Only)
  • Hot Shots Golf 6 (Sony / Golf Game)
  • Yuusha no Kiroku (Sony / Lifesyle App / Download Only)
  • Monster Radar (Sony Marketing / Positional Information Game)
  • @field (Sonic Powered / Virtual Space Golf Action)
  • Shin Kamaitachi no Yoru (ChunSoft / Sound Novel)
  • Dream Club Zero Portable (D3 Publisher / Love Simulation)
  • Nico Nico (Dwango / Nico Nico / Download Only)
  • Disgaea 3 Return (Nippon Ichi / Simulation RPG)
  • Katamari Damacy No Vita (Namco Bandai)
  • Ridge Racer (Namco Bandai / Racing / Download/Retail TBA)
  • Dark Quest (Ubisoft / RPG)
  • Michael Jackson The Experience (Ubisoft / Rhythm Game)
  • Mahjong Fight Club (Konami, Mahjong)
  • Asphalt Injection (Konami, Racing)
Asphalt Injection, I could care less but Mahjong Fight Club, that's something for my dad. It probably does not have a lot of text so might as well import that one...

Does anyone think theres too many games for the Vita launch, i know the PS3 had a rough start because of a lack of games, but surely the opposite is just as dangeous.

i mean companies releasing loads of games at the same price, it seems easy for a lot of less well know games to get lost in tranmission in such a saturated market!

You can never have enough games, just like you can never have enough rules for Mahjogg fight club, the first rule of Mahjogg Fight club is- wait, what?!

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Some in the launch lineup aren't games,  just apps. it's still alright but yeah it's a risk but we'll see. It's X-mas time anyway in Japan.

I cannot even imagine what Mahjong fight club could be?

dunno - select a matching set of tiles (graded by difficulty, perhaps with more points to use at an ingame shop) then have a fight about it?

I can't think of anything else...

anyway, pretty broad-based launch titles, should be good to cater for quite a few gaming tastes imo

It only hurts when they are mediocre or bad as people will be wary of all the games. If they are good then consumers are excited to try new experiences.  Playstation brand was built upon having the largest possible selection of software.  Vita may be the first Playstation  to live up to it's name sake in a long time. How could it hurt to have something for everyone?

that's one crazy looking launch line up! 0_o even without reading through the whole thing I saw 3-4 games I REALLY want to buy

Launch titles are usually crap... so really there are like 4 worthy titles up there which are probably even questionable. And what's the deal with ridge racer LOL.. everytime a console launches it's there :P

Mahjong Fight Club...Select a matching set of tiles, then punch your opponent in the face! Or knee him in the balls (not really, that hurts).
