Both games are good, this argument has gotten really dumb, and it will never be solved. I dunno how this one PS3 vs. 360 arguement got so big.

Question - Do I fall into the FM4 fanboy category? I love both games.

Aside - I just wanted to show people the Forza Motorsport 4 is a real, and probably the best racing sim. Before this thread people would comment that you don't need to brake in FM3 while cornering, and the physics were a joke, and that's just not the case. Forza Motorsport as a franchise gets so much trash talk on this website, and it's just stupid. I want Forza to get the same recognition as GT, as the franchise has really worked it's way up to that level of quality, but it seems all FM4's level of quality has done is segregate the fans. Stop hating the competition.

Aside2 - Also, when I read the comments. GT5 fans like to say Forza looks like crap (Forza 4 cars looking like GT5 standard cars? unrealistic sound, poor lighting, etc), but Forza fans just argue Forza looks good or  better then GT5. This might not mean a lot to most, but I think we can cut at least 50% of the trash talking if people just accept both look good. Especially if the people who have not played Forza 4 didn't immediatly insult it.

Actually no, Forza fans don't limit themselves to that. If they did, then they would have taken the big man's route and left the GT5 fanboys act like little children. Instead you also got Forza fans pulling some arsinine BS pictures about the pixelization and other stuff, that while those things are present on the game, it doesn't impact the game and it isn't noticeable at all since most people don't care about it. Just like the GT5 fans pulling random pictures and videos about the lack of real time reflections and whatnot, who cares? Does that impact the enjoyability of a sims? No it doesn't.

Heck, GPL and GP2 are still some of my favourite Sims of all time and they're a 1998 and 1996 videogames. People need to start enjoying both games, stop being utterly defensive about one or the other and stop with these threads. Not only are they "noise" for the forums, it only gives a poor image of the people arguing about it. Both sides are acting like crap on this argument and it's really sad. It's just like the Forza 3 vs GT5 threads all over again.

And yes, I consider everyone on this thread who has stooped down to the BS levels for each respective game a fanboy. I enjoyed Forza 3 a lot, it was my favourite console sim when it released, by far (heck I only missed about 50 GS or so from getting the full 1000 back when I still had my 360), but my experience with GT5 was more satisfying. And that's that, there's no reason to do what people in this thread and countless others are doing/did.

Well on both sides, there is nothing wrong with showing the limitations of both games. I was not aware that Forza 4 looked different in Hot Lap, or 12 person race, and although I have yet to test this, I'll accept it.

People critisizing the way they drive (Forza 4 is a joke sim, or whatever complaints people make about GT5) are not needed though.

You are right though, both games looks amazing, and these little hiccups don't change the overall quality of the game. Both look spectacular, and you are right, this just like FM3 vs. GT5 threads again.

Respect. I just feel personally Forza gets attacked a lot more then GT as it's a newer IP, and the website in general has a lot of blind PS supporters, and few 360 fans. Guess I am too defensive, but I mean no harm, and it's really annoying when people insult the physics of Forza, and have no clue what they are talking about. I mean most of the people insulting Forza 4 here haven't even played it.

Both games are great, I just wished, like you said, people can enjoy them.

I don't like being looked at as a fanboy

I agree with the bolded, but again it's just a repetition of the past. Forza 3 was attacked a lot prior and post release, GT5 was too and now the cycle has come back to Forza 4. Until the fans learn to behave and accept both games, when GT6/Forza 5 releases we'll have the same discussions over and over again and these threads will repeat themselves.

Professional sim drivers and reviewers have given their opinion on both games and have found them to be good simulators, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, from that point onwards every fan from both games really shouldn't talk crap about the other game just because they can't play it/don't like it.

I'm sorry if I'm labelling a lot of people fanboys, when they really don't deserve it, it's just that these kinds of threads annoy me to no end. Mostly because I always hope that there'll be a time when we can discuss both franchises in "peace"

These threads annoy me when they get out of hand, which they often do. I've had civil debates on Forza vs. GT, and they ended quickly, and were nice. These larger ones bring in the BS.

As for the bolded, I don't think GT gets critisized anywhere nearly as much as Forza does, but yea, that's true. These arguements are a waste of time and bandwidth.

The way I feel about it, and the way people who activly play both games feel about it, is that Forza has developed itself to the point where it's the same quality at GT. The year Forza releases, it's on top, no questions. The year GT releases, it's also ontop. So for 2009 Forza 3 was the best racing sim this gen, and basically ever on consoles. GT5 released in 2010, and it was ontop, and now Forza 4 is back optop. Neither game is 100% better then the other when it releases, but in general that's the way it is.

Regardless of that, to some GT will always be better, and other Forza will. the games are structured differently, and it's the same as how some people only like Mustangs, while others Cameros.

People shouldn't talk crap, but they do. In the end, the bolded part explains the situation best. People just need to accept that, and I think for future debates, I will try to emphasis that point instead of defending or attacking one game.

I said before and I and say it again...

The standard cars on GT5 is on pair with the cars in Forza 4... the premium cars is in another level.

This is just trolling. I showed you Forza Motorsport 2 cars which looked better then the standard cars in GT5, and someone else showed the Punto in Forza 4. Play Forza 4 before you make comments like ethomaz, or I won't be able to take you seriously anymore.

Not all standard cars are bad... the Punto posted here shows the GT5 standard is on pair with Forza 4.

ethomaz, play Forza 4. It just isn't, and I don't know what you are trying to do by even suggesting this. I fell like your trolling. The standard cars n GT5 look like PGR3 cars at best. It's sub Forza 2. They fixed the pixels, but it's just not the same, not even close.

It really makes a difference to play the game on your tv. The audio and still streamed videos can only go so far on your laptop/tower. You need to hear the game with proper sound, and see the game on the best monitor you have to judge. You've seen what GT5 can do on your TV, I really think you should play Forza 4 on your TV, without subjectivity, before you continue making insulting posts toward Forza 4.

I know you want to defend GT5, it's amazing, but don't do it by insulting a game you haven't played before.

I'm just saying not all GT5 standard cars looks like PGR3 of Forza 2 cars... there are many who look on pair with Forza 4 cars.

I even gave you an example .

The sound in Forza is overdone, when you are inside the cockpit it should not sound like if you had a third person point of view, which in fact puts GT5 already ahead by simulating the sound INSIDE the cockpit, and lighting is overdone in Forza, as it is many games to make it "look" better while hiding glitches/pixels, etc...it does look cartooish, and the environment by far is better on GT5. Bottom line, when it comes to simulating REALISM GT5 takes the trophy for sure.

Gotta love real world examples to shut up the people who haven't even played Forza 4 or pushed a car in real life.

Yeah I was actually surprised they sounded so alike. The real life one actually sounds even louder than the one in F4 but that is probably because the real life one had the windows open some.

Still they are shockingly similar. So Forza 4 sound is not overdone than...at least not for this specific car.

One thing I do know though is pretty much all cars are loud when you put the pedal to the metal. I know my 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage is pretty damn loud when I gun it (and it sounds surprisingly good for being a rather shit car in the grand scheme of things)

BTW this is a bit off topic but do you know what class my car would be in if it was in Forza? I would guess it would be a low/middle end D car but I'm not sure.

Someone pointed out the window is open in the above comparision. I want to add that cameras also distort quality, and wind noise makes the car quieter in the real life video over Forza.

The Ferrarri sounds right in Forza, as do most cars (I can vouch for the Camero, and a handful of others). Not overdone at all, Forza did a good job replicating all the little sounds a reving engine makes. Actually to be honest, most cars in real life are still much louder then in Forza 4, it could still use some work to make the lower end cars sound more racy.

As for the Mitsubishi Mirage. Low D? LOL I'll assume you have the top spec 1.6L 172bhp model. Well a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse has 210hp, and it's an F138. However the 1995 GSX is an E256 with the same engine. Also a Honda Fit with 117bhp is a F130. So wow.... it really depends on how the car handles. You are probably still a low F either way. The only way your car could be a low D was if you modified it to have 250-300bhp, and tuned the suspension to mimic a Lancer better. I bet like the Eclipse, your car does roll a lot on corners.

The top spec for my car (which I have) Is 1.8 with 111 horse power (LOL) But it's a very light car and it handles turns very well. I can go 45 (72 KPH) MPH around the cloverleaf highway exit/entrance ramps that say the 25 MPH (40 KPH) is the recommended speed without any trouble. I haven't actually tried to go as fast as I can around those corners.

Oh and i got it mixed up I forgot there was E class cars too so I meant to say low/middle E class is where I think it would probably end up.

BTW the 2003 Eclipse GTS is a E249, the 1995 GSX is a C358 and the lancers are all way up in the B spec.
