Halo is most certainly overrated though. Microsoft compared its impact to Star Wars. They must have been high on Mountain Dew.

Right. I can't speak for others, but for me personally Halo had a huge impact on my worldview. It made me truly despise the USA.

Something can only be overrated based on your own expectations. But usually, what people call overrated is nothing more than something that is the cup of tea of a majority, but not theirs.

If a majority of people greatly enjoy something, then it's not overrated; it's a consensus of highly positive views.  The word "overrated" is thrown in the mix when people need to piss on something they feel insecure about for any silly given reasons. XD

I think the term "if you can't join em' hate on them" comes to mind in this situation. Don't let your bitterness cloud the fact that Halo is the best thing since the wheel.
