Forums - Microsoft - Forza 4 title update improves track visuals, smacks down early exploits

Examiner

Turn 10 Studios released the first title update to Forza Motorsport 4 on Thursday after the Xbox 360 exclusive racing sim was released just two days earlier in North America.

The title update includes a number of back-end improvements to the game but also includes some visual upgrades to different tracks and also puts an end to some early exploits discovered in the Rivals mode.

A partial list of fixes to Forza 4 includes the following.

  • Various track visual upgrades
  • Various UI improvements
  • Fixed Rivals Track Day exploit where users can gain advantage by forcibly pitting AI cars
  • Fixed Drag leaderboard exploit that gave players time advantage by loading tuning file (To coincide with this fix, we will be wiping the drag leaderboards in the near future)
  • Fixed issue where importing a Forza 3 profile does not award credits to Xbox LIVE Silver members
  • Fixed issue where some livery editor layers were appearing as corrupted when importing from Forza 3

I thought the the tracks looked a bit better than I remembered them being!

It's awesome that they can improve visuals with just an update.

Already! This is a good thing though. In the past once a game was out, it was out. But these days things can be fixed and made better!

It's good, but in way it kinda sucks because that means developers don't have to put as much effort into the final game if they know they can fix it with a patch later on. I'm sure a game like say Gears 2 would've been in development much longer if developers didn't get the chance to release a patch.

Now with Forza 4 it's such a polished game that any patches is just extra, but sometimes I don't feel the same with other games.
