Oh good lord. Not good DS or 3DS numbers. Congrats to DS for passing 50 million though. LOL at Nintendo's press release, "24 of the top 25 best selling portable games". Nintendo stealth trolling the PSP? Pretty good Madden sales. I really don't understand its popularity though.

A) What does "We have more Kinect dancing games this XMas than last XMas" have to do with NPD results?

B) Exactly the same as PS3 titles. Nothing earthshaking to brag about, considering almost everything is multiplat nowadays.

Seems to me this guy was caught off-guard by something he didn't expect..

They mean the 360 versions of those games would be in the top ten in the old NPD.

Well the 360 did 438k this month and 308k last month. So that's a 130k rise.

It's just that all hardwares went up.


Indeed but last month 360 308k and had 43% of the marketshare. Meaning in total 660k for the month. Leaving 352k between Wii and PS3.

If we assume that the marketshare is again 43% then 438k would mean a total of 994k. If 360 has 438k then that leaves 556k. If Nintendo just said it sold 240k wiis then that leaves 316k for PS3 not 374k.

My maths could be off and that is based on assuming it is 43% share again.

It's basic math and it's already confirmed ...

360 did 440k roughly, and roughly 40% marketshare which means 110k per 10% marketshare, PS3 + Wii did 60% marketshare together so 660k....

Madden looks hugely undertracked, doesn't it? Or Gears a bit overtracked?


Gears is about 2 million plus however many were bundled. I'm guessing 75k-100k. So we're tracking it accurately or just slightly overtracking it. But yes, we're significantly undertracking Madden.

The % thing is usually in the press release, same as last month AFAIK. If it's remained the same and 360 was #1 I doubt much he cares ...

You're lying, most months it's from the press statement, some months we don't even get the numbers announce by Major Nelson.

He's just a spokesperson for MS

Does Vgchartz adjust their numbers to be in line with NPD ? I remember 360 being regularly undertraked by VGchartz, has those numbers been corrected or do we stick to our numbers ? I cant seem to recall any major adjustments of late.

Yeah i knew 3DS was overtracked! But still with just a pricecut it increased from sub 100k/month to 260k/month without any huge games... not bad numbers imo considering the poor software lineup
