No, because all my posts get reported, especially the ones where I criticise america/religion/tradition.   

All of them do?  That is SO tempted to report this one, just for giggles, because you said that.  Kinda feel like you would be disappointed if it wasn't reported

But seriously, it seems every time I sit down to write or read these forums, my posts are being reported.  Every time I mention my opinion on religion, I'm reported.  Every time I mention my beliefs on controversial subjects, I'm reported.  Every time I have a strong opinion on a game, I'm reported for trolling. I swear, that "Writer" Tag has painted a neon target on my forehead.  Hell, there was this one thread where a dude made a thread that was clearly a joke (Calling europeans out for supporting the PS3 over the 360, wondering how that could happen), and I made a joke saying "Well of course they like thePS3 better, it's a better system and Europeans are smarter than americans"....and that became my most reported post...

Then in another thread I was imitating the drill seargeant from Fullmetal Jacket, jokingly calling Brendude a pansy for having arachnophobia, and I got reported for that, too. it's really frustrating knowing that, since I'm a 'member of the site', I'm practically neutered.

Well while this post is obviously completely innocent. Both the posts you mention technically would have resulted in bans a few years ago. "Well of course they like thePS3 better, it's a better system and Europeans are smarter than Americans" Now I'm not sure if you made it 100% obvious that it was a joke but that kind of comment would get me warned easily.

As for your imitation of the drill sergeant it would be perfectly acceptable to people who are familiar with the movie and understand what your getting at but other users would likely view it as a personal attack on a fellow user. Which could also result in a warning.

I'm not trying to say you deserve a ban for those comments or the majority of your replies or threads. But I don't think your the only one who gets reported nor are the examples you gave really bad reasons to be reported. I am betting I get reported dozens of times a day on a regular basis.

I don't think your targeted anymore as a writer (Reporting wise) its just you are actually aware of how many times your reply or topic was reported. I'm sure there are many non-writers who get reported nearly as much or more. The reason users point out your a writer is because your held to a higher standard then the regular offenders. Users expect you to obey the rules of the site to a tee. When you make a comment that clearly would get another user a warning or a ban but you don't it upsets users.

Out of curiosity how many times have you actually been warned? I'm not talking a mod simply mentioning maybe a thread was a bad idea I'm talking a formal warning. Because almost every user who has been on the site for a few years received at least one warning and others received tons of them and even bans.

It would be interesting to know what actual repercussions have you had due to posts like the ones you mentioned which obviously you think were over reactions. If you haven't received a formal warning or a single ban and are just complaining because some users are upset with you, I can't help but lol. There will always be people who disagree with you, always people who report you always people who will pick your statements apart piece by piece. But if you haven't actually had any repercussion its very hard to feel the least bit sorry for you since myself and most other members have actually been warned and received bans!

my bosses have talked to me on a weekly basis about how reported my posts are, commenting that 90% of the things I say are 100% okay but that people seem to report me due to the fact that I Write reviews.  it's been discussed at length.  While I certainly say a lot of things that get people going, for good or bad, I do get reported more since I'm a writer.  

I don't do anything ban-worthy, jsut a lot of stuff straddling the line and I'm expected to be more neutral/drama-free since I'm a writer. 

So yes, more scrutiny is on me since I'm a writer. 

Do you know how much other users get reported? Because I know many report me I have no doubt I get reported on a regular basis sometimes with cause other times 100% innocence. You may get reported for reviews since I don't actually read your reviews I wouldn't know if you've done anything to cross the line. But 1UP is notorious for crossing the line and reviewers on many other sites do cross the line from proffesional to rude and offensive.

I myself have never reported you for anything that wouldn't get me a warning or ban. Maybe by the current mod teams standards you don't do anything ban worthy but Rol , Myself and several other users were banned for saying and doing far less then some of the stuff you have done.

I don't know how much you get reported or which threads your reported in. If your reviews are getting reported by fan boys upset with the review that's perfectly understandable and as a writer your going to take flack for your reviews all writers do. I got hate mail on a regular basis and fan mail. There will always be people who enjoy your reviews and others who will get upset. It comes with the territory.

So no I'm not sure if you are reported more because your a writer. From some of the posts I've seen they just either straddle the line or in rare cases go to far.

But in the end I don't even know why you care if you get reported. If the mod team finds you innocent and the majority of users believe you were right then it shouldn't matter what one or two users think. Unless your getting 100+ reports in which case well maybe you should rethink your posts.

But your always going to have haters and people who disagree no point in getting upset about it.
