Forums - Sports - The OG NHL thread: The Cup worth biting for

Who will win?

Chicago Blackhawks 12 80.00%

Tampa Bay Lightning 3 20.00%

Total:15

okay late to the party, but here goes:

Predators over Phoenix cause I am salty over them beating the Blackhawks (7 games)

Blues over the LA trappers in 5 games

Rangers over Capitals in 6, but we might be surprised

Philadelphia over the Devils in 7because I still hate them for popularizing the trap all those years ago even though Brodeur is a beast and better retire after this season.

Still will accept late picks until 11:59 pm mountain time as I am a rule monger.

Did you look far enough back in the tread to realize you had the best picks?!

Blues better destroy the trappers tonight, hard to say though as LA is a pretty physical team.

I did see that.

Nothing went our way in Game 1.  They got every break and the refs missed what should have been a major penalty on the hit on Pietrangelo.  He was out for the rest of the game and might miss Game 2.  It will probably only be a fine, but even if there is a suspension it will not make up for us losing our best defenseman.

Cool, yeah I feel that LA's aggressiveness and hard hitting was what won them the game. The one thing that can be said is at least they expect him to return. My hope is the Blues give back the hard hitting game in game 2 as LA has championed that style of play in all their games this round annd it has payed off.

Reminds me I better tune in for the last period of Philly and the Devils.

The Blues are a hard checking team too.  They won't be pushed around like the Canucks were.

So glad Breires's soccer goal did not count. I feel the that the ageless Brodeur was the only reason NJ even was in this along with Bryzgolof's bad play. Bryzgolof did face very little shots, but the performance was bad like the rest of the playoffs. Still exciting hockey.

@ Republic I agree the blues can do it. The game was a lot closer than the final score suggests.

Wow.

Not even a fine for King, and the Blues are completely out of whack without their best player.

That's cool.

LA is looking good, can't believe they scored 4 goals in 1 period against a team like St Louis. With the hopeful return of Halak and Peitrangelo in game 3 though, I can see the Blues coming back in this series.

Well turns out Halak is out for the series. I think Elliott is more than capable of winning, it just couldn't have hurt to switch thinks around a bit after a tough start.
