GMs are discussing the rules soon, it should be interesting to see if there are many changes. I say eliminate the salary cap again. As the avs are owned by the Super rich Walmart partial owner Stan Kronke, who will pay his way to the best team if he could. He did it before the salary cap.

Oh God, I hope this doesn't happen.  This would be the fastest way to ruin the game.

Not much of an explanation of why? Ever sincce it was implemented all the teams become closer in level of ability and caused hardly any teams to stand out causing these very close races for the playoffs like they one we a re especially seein gthis year in the west were about 6 teams have almost identical record and only about two or them will make it well the others will barely miss it.

I didn't mind it either Loco as the Hawks bought the Cup two years ago.  :p

It does suck if you have a small market team though or a cheap owner.  I will say that.

The hawks did it by getting a lot of high draft picks years back, some smart trading and by  building a team that was young up together, when they were horrible for many years (washington did the same). I suppose that is what you are alluding to. XD Actually is the same thing the avs are currently attempting, but it takes a lot of time to reach elite status. Clearly my wish will never happen as it would harm many teams financially especially the smallest Candian markets.

Buying teams clearly does not always work as the Rangers famously failed at it for years. haha

My sarcasm didn't get by you.  The Avs actually are doing a very good job putting together a good young team.  Let's see if they can keep them together.  I am kind of pulling for them to make the playoffs since I used to like the team in the days of Forsberg and Roy.  It's been a while since they've competed.

Money doesn't always work, but it often did for the team whose avatar you have.

You know that is why I bitch and I want a return to the wings and avs smashing it out every year. That was awesome. It does not help when the lockout is what lead to the avs not even making the playoffs most years since it happened, so I am forever bitter.

Oh thankfully, I will be changing this disgusting thing tomorrow to an almost completely naked woman.

Getting back to your other thread comment. I think it is funny that several teams might have better and identical points to whomever wins the pacific. The division is way too close for my liking. Also in the East Florida might win the SE division with a comparatively worse record than whomever wins the pacific. Might lead to home ice advantage not being so great.

How do the avalanche keep winning lately? Jesus. I think we should organize a play off pool once they roll around. Gonna be a good cup race this year.

I thought about it, but I do not think there would be enough participants. The only way I would know for sure is if I made a seperate thread about it.

I'm sure we can get something going. We'll have everyone make their picks before each series or something. We got a month to figure out a system but I'm down to work it out.

GO FLYERS!

That's a familiar name, nice to see you around.

Flyers are looking really good lately, bryzgalov is a wall - imagine if he played remotely like this earlier in the year, Flyers would be leading the East.

I also wish my Canadiens would stop winning. It's been a miserable year and losing out on a top draft pick would ruin one of the only positives to take out of it.

Hey, if your around you should post more as we have a zero East side hockey presence going in this thread.

On another note, after all these years I still hate Martin brodeur as he is still killing the Avalanche. That 50 year old man got a shutout. Seriously retire already.

The Penguins win and I am starting to believe they might catch up the the Rangers. I hope so as they are a fun team to watch.
