Dude what's with the Red Wings hate my man? How could you hate such an amazing team? I mean they aren't as good as the Coyotes, but they're pretty damn good.

And all their great players are late draft picks, Zetter and Datsyuk are both like 6th/7th rounders! haha. And Holmstrom is the lowest draft pick ever to reach 1,000 games.

Do you really need to have an answer to that question?  I am a Blackhawks fan that lives in Chicago.  Both teams are original six teams and the Wings have been the Blackhawks biggest rivals since back in those days.  The two teams have always been in the same division.  Also, the history hasn't always been pretty (the Wings have a long and  illustrious history of always having a top goon /enforcer).  Most hockey historians will tell you that Gordie Howe himself was one of the dirtiest skilled players ever.  Ever heard of the Gordie Howe hat trick?  Also, who throws an octopus on the ice?  Fans used to do it when the Wings were being eliminated, but now they do it for no reason.  Add to that the fact that win a lot and it's not too hard to see why I don't like them.  Hawks and WIngs is like Bears and Packers, or Yankees and Red Sox, or Keanu Reeves and Academy awards.  They don't mix.

Oh yeah true man, I forgot you were a Chicagoite! That makes sense then. My geography tells me I should be a Leafs fan, but screw them I like the Coyotes.

And yeah Gordie Howe aka Mr. Elbows was definitely dirty! haha. But a highly effective player. Its sorta funny how the Gordie Howe hat trick is named after him but I think he only did it like 3 or 4 times in his career! Personally I think a Gordie Howe hat trick is better than a regular hat trick.

I'm sorry man but we just disagree on hockey. I hate the Blackhawks! I hate Marian Hossa because of how he lost in the cup finals with the Penguins in 2008 and then jumps ship to the Red Wings in 2009 and they lose, so he trades to a different contender, the Blackhawks and that lucky asshole finally gets a win. I also hate Patrick Kane because he's way overrated and he just looks like a rat, plus he beat up a cab driver. And then Toews is all right by me but why is it spelled Toews and pronounced Taves? Damn what a weird name.

Chicagoan, Marks.  We are Chicagoans.

Bobby Hull > Gordie Howe

I actually agree with some of the things you say.  Some people say that Hossa jumped from team to team until he won.  Others say that he was in demand as a "hired gun".  I think that it's a little of both plus I think that teams were reluctant to sign him long term because he's injury prone.  The Hawks made a mistake by locking him up for the next 75 years.  He's a very good player... when he plays.  Patrick Kane isn't as good as he should be because he's a drunk.  He has enough talent to be one of the top players in the league, but everytime that he isn't playing hockey he is in a club getting hammered or spotted getting carried out of one.  It's a shame.  I wasn't in the cab and neither were you so we really don't know what happened.  Toews is a really wierd name but Roy is the weirdest.  :p  For the record, my favorite Blackhawk is Duncan Keith.

haha I like the sound of Chicagoite or Chicagonian better than Chicagoan! But I guess I'll use it if its the proper term.

And I didn't know all that about Kane, but I guess it makes sense. I'm glad to hear Keith is your favourite player and not Hossa or Kane.

But I definitely have to say: Howe > Hull/Mikita...I might even be inclined to say Steve Yzerman is as good as Bobby Hull or Stan Mikita.

Yzerman is as good as Hull or Mikita? Your bias blinds you.

A little excited for Colorado as they have won two in a row getting 9 goals and only allowing one. It was also done with back up goal tender Varlimov in net. He was the starter, but had his job taken by the 36 year J. S. Gigure, until he was recently injured. One of the two will be in net vs. D-town tonight. I hope it is Gigure even Varly is hot because Varly has been jut too inconsistent, of course they will probably go with Varly to get the hot glove going.

Down with the wings!!!

I'm pumped to see where Rick Nash gets traded. Whoever gets him is basically an instant contender.

And fuck the Vancouver Swedes, I can't even call em Canucks because they're all European.

Yeah, Vancouver is on their way to their second President's trophy. As expected.

With Ballard out long term, I hope we shore up on defense this deadline. Use the cap room to our advantage.

The Preisdent's Trophy means nothing without the Stanley Cup next to it.

Oh that's cold, but I do know most of the time having the home ice advantage throughout the playoffs pays off. In most games sevens, the home team wins. It is just statistics.

Detriot has been known to have a long history of great European players. Lidstrom being the most well known blue eyed bastard.

On another note, it is awesome the avs won two nights in a row after being exausted. It is looking more and more like Gabriel Landeskog will win rookie of the year. Truelly, a pure well rounded player at 19, and one of the toughest Europeans in hockey. Even says he tries not to play like a European and plays the puck physically.

Awesome new thread title, I love the Yotes!! I think they're like 9-1 in the last 10. They're on fire.

And I was sad to see Detroit's streak end, but there's no shame in a streak like that ending. 23 straight wins at home is enormous.

The last point I want to bring up is that Malkin is doing amazing without Crosby. Whenever Crosby is around Malkin seems to play good (but not great), but without Crosby he's absolutely unstoppable. I really wonder if Pittsburgh should keep both of them, or trade one of them.

I remember in the  90's when the Hawks won the Presidents trophy, but not the Cup.  I wasn't celebrating,
