With both Tawes and Datsyuk out for the Detriot-Chicago game last night the good side wins.Just glad it was equal and both teams missed their star player. Haha, anyways is was a rather slow game without much fighting one would expect out of a rivalry. It seemed to be all about business and points. In the end, glad to see The wings streak end. Now they need to learn to lose at home.

I guess that it's in your nature.
You'd be good at gambling on sports, not that I'd ever endorse such a thing.

Of course he's a great player, but I have a rep to keep so he stinks. |
Dude what's with the Red Wings hate my man? How could you hate such an amazing team? I mean they aren't as good as the Coyotes, but they're pretty damn good.
And all their great players are late draft picks, Zetter and Datsyuk are both like 6th/7th rounders! haha. And Holmstrom is the lowest draft pick ever to reach 1,000 games.

They have todd bootuzzi/ bertuzzi who when was a Canuck broke Steve Moore a rookie member of the Avalanches neck on March 10th 2004 ending his carrer. The man cannot play now. Basically, this evil man embodies the entire team's character.
The word banal and playoffs comes to minf=d too when I think of them.
Now them 'yotes are a team on the rise worth watching.

Yeah Bert's attack on Moore was terrible, but it was just a bad choice he made in an otherwise really solid career. He paid for it with the longest suspension in league history, and being a journeyman the next few years until he finally settled down in Detroit. I think he's paid his dues. He doesn't deserve much respect, but doesn't really deserve hate anymore.
I love the wings. Datsyuk is the most exciting player to watch with the puck, and Kronwall is the biggest hitter in the league. Plus they have one of the top 5 defensemen of all time in Lidstrom.
But yeah the Yotes are my top team! I'll be interested to see where they are moved in a couple years. I really hope it isn't somewhere stupid (a non-hockey market) like Seattle, Vegas or Kansas City. I also don't want them to go to Quebec because I'd have to stop cheering for them. I would love them in Southern Ontario or basically anywhere in Northeast USA/Canada. I don't consider Quebec part of Canada.

Do you really need to have an answer to that question? I am a Blackhawks fan that lives in Chicago. Both teams are original six teams and the Wings have been the Blackhawks biggest rivals since back in those days. The two teams have always been in the same division. Also, the history hasn't always been pretty (the Wings have a long and illustrious history of always having a top goon /enforcer). Most hockey historians will tell you that Gordie Howe himself was one of the dirtiest skilled players ever. Ever heard of the Gordie Howe hat trick? Also, who throws an octopus on the ice? Fans used to do it when the Wings were being eliminated, but now they do it for no reason. Add to that the fact that win a lot and it's not too hard to see why I don't like them. Hawks and WIngs is like Bears and Packers, or Yankees and Red Sox, or Keanu Reeves and Academy awards. They don't mix.

Loving the races in the Western Conference, so many skilled teams. I'm a big fan of the way St Louis has been playing, I don't think they're cup ready but I think they will at least make it to the 2nd round.
The Eastern Conference is pretty lame, nobody really wants that last playoff spot and outside of Rangers/Bruins I don't like any teams chances. Maybe the Devils actually, but outside of those three I have no confidence.
As for my Habs, I hope they trade trade trade. Kostitstyn I'm hoping fetches a 2nd rounder + prospect, Moen a 3rd rounder + prospect, Campoli 4th rounder, Weber for anything, and if there is a God some team will take Gomez for anything in return. Hell we'll throw in a 2nd rounder. Just get rid of him before the start of new season. This combined with a top 5 draft pick would be a welcome start to a mini rebuild.
Love the standings on the front page too - Minnesota ahead of Vancouver :D

This could become interesting in the playoffs if we got some, hawks, blues and redsucks fans all going agains each other. I also like the blues as they have shown peserverance and become dominant. Brian Elliot has been phenominal and deserves a lot of credit.
I did start out the thread with the premis that the East is inferior and i would say that has easily proven to be true. Many analysts even notice this even claiming that Colorado has a chance to make it because many of their games are against the East!!!
Hilarious considering they are just average in the West, but mostly dominate the Est. Glad I had foresight enough to know the East is least.
Will update standings I guess since the thread is finally getting attention and without the help of Predator fan Ryan S.
