The thread is gaining more support (a lot more) going into the playoffs

Stanley Cup playoffs are the best playoffs in sport for my tastes.

Hockey is the best sport in my opinion... So, I completely agree with you.

Only other sport I like is baseball for a plethora of reasons but mostly because it's not really time consuming to follow along. You can check up every few days to see whats happened in the league. And you don't really need to remain focus while paying attention to the game (you can hang out with people). I can't be bothered when a hockey game is on

Mine is soccer, but most leagues do not have playoffs (MLS does, but the set up has issues using aggregate on seeded format in my opinion).  The equivalent of the Presidnet's Cup is the Champion or there is independent cup play based on draws or mix of draw sand seeding.  I enjoy hockey a great deal, but Stanley Cup Playoffs and Olympic hockey is when I really get invested.  Bring on the triple OT!

Blackhawks over Wild in 5.
Penguins over Islanders in 5.
Ducks over Redwings in 4.
Senators over Canadiens in
Canucks of Sharks in 5
Rangers of Capitals
Kings over blues
Bruins over maple leafs

How is that? Right format?

Ducks have been on a decline and Red Wings beat them 2 out of 3 times in the regular season... Ducks may win I wont argue with you there but I will tell you they don't have a chance beating them 4 times in a row.

Well this is my first time following a hockey season. How many possible games are in each series? I cannot find it online.

Each series is best out of 7 games. So first team to 4 wins will move to the next round.
