^^Couldn't agree more.

Starmie is also one of the OU legendary 3.

Starmie, Gengar, and Zapados are the only one's to stay in OU since gen 1

Which shows you have sturdy thier place is in the metagame.

I know I'm straying away from the definition of Ubers with what I'm about to say, but personally, I always felt that Gengar was an uber of it's own accord, especially being the fastest Ghost (along with Froslass) and one of the strongest Sp. Att of the lot. Heck, with the power buffs that Poison moves have had in the past gens, Gengars have become even stronger powerhouses.

Morty's Gengar was probably one of the hardest Gym leader pokemon battles.

It's all about mother loving Charmander, best starter ever hands down, not even arguable.

More like Shadow Ball'O Death Gengar, thing hits like a mac truck on steroids.

OU poke's being in Uber's isn't uncommon, your just gonna need some Ubers as teammates to be viable.

I think because of its bad defenses it's not uber, though almost every Gengar I see now runs Subsititute.

Using Sub+Disable though to screw over Chocie/Scarf users is ultimate trollage. :)

Mepereatu, you seem to know a lot about the competitive scene - do you play in it a lot?

More watch than play (online-wise).  I more play with peeps via linked battles (college has more poke nerds than the eye can see).

I use in-game teams so my IV's are not perfect, and sometimes that really hurts me.

As much as I love competative play, im not so hard core to breed/trade for flawless pokemon or trade for event-related moves.

Is there a place where I can watch regular competitive battles? I see them appear on Machinima occasionally, and I'd like to see more of them

I loved Totodile in G/S <3 <3 <3

Youtube has millions (though quality and autenticity of the pokemon used vary)

Pokemon's offical website also has tounament final battles, the most recent being VGC (doubles 5th gen only).

Are you implying that you are a cartoonish turtle with the ability to produce large amounts of water from your gut?

Man, all this geeky talk about the metagame makes me want to play. Too bad I don't have the time anymore :/
