number 7 needs to be re-worded

Around the Network

1-9: B
10: A

Not 100% but since there isn't a price involved.....

Edit:

And real gamers only play games with loads of cutscenes so there's your answer to the lack of interest.

This thread makes me miss my copy of Metroid 2 for Gameboy (first Metroid game I ever played). I hope it hits the 3DS eShop soon. It can join my collection of Gargoyle's Quest, Quix, Zelda Link's Awakening, Super Mario Land 1 and Super Mario Land 2 as games I'm downloading just to relive my youth.

Rounding out my 1989-1991 collection are:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan
Tetris
F1 Race
Cosmo Tank
Mercenary Force
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2
Ninja Gaiden Shadow
Battletoads
Tiny Toon Adventures

It was released in Japan less than a fortnight ago.  I would expect released in NA and PAL regions soon

You just made life more confusing for me by calling Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion, Metroid 3 and Metroid 4. I've seriously never heard anyone call them those. Also, when making a multiple choice quiz, don't make most of the answers the same letter.

Turn on Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion and let the intro run (or watch them on Youtube). What do you get to see? Nintendo presents: Metroid 3 and Metroid 4, respectively.

Which one of the following games did Metroid Prime 2 draw inspiration from?

^Like that?

Yeah. The way you had it worded made me think you were asking which games drew inspiration from Metroid.

Actually if you read it the way you originally wrote it, it sounds like you're asking which games 'drew' Metroid 3. The second half of the sentence doesn't make sense at all.

I failed miserably. Well I hope I'll do better next time.

Uh huh, and what do the covers and title screens of the games call them? Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion, since those are the actual names of the games. Hence why people call them by those names and not Metroid 3 or 4.

Alright, it's time to reveal the correct answers. I don't think that I am getting more than eight responses anyway. A Zelda thread would probably be far more popular.

Anyway, first off I want to congratulate everyone who knew all the correct answers. Or rather that would have been what I did, if somebody actually knew them all. The closest anyone got was nine out of ten. The correct answers are as follows:

  • 1B
  • 2B
  • 3B
  • 4B (At the time of writing I had forgotten that the secret area actually doesn't belong to sector 6, but it doesn't change the outcome. The secret area is located on the main deck, so it isn't a separate sector anyway.)
  • 5B
  • 6B
  • 7B (The wording of this question may have been confusing, but I think everyone understood what I meant anyway. Metroid Prime 2's defining characteristic is the dual world concept which had been used in A Link to the Past before.)
  • 8B (The common assumption here was that this question had to be taken literally, but it actually was just about a deliberate spelling error. There is no Elyssia, only an Elysia.)
  • 9B
  • 10 (And this is where everyone failed without exception. I mean, how gullible can people be? When the answer is B nine times in a row, you should be prepared for the last question's correct answer to not be B. The simple trick here was to place Metroid Prime on the B spot, because it was easy to confuse it with Metroid Prime 2 and Metroid Prime 3 which both tapped out at 255 due to the additional five missiles from the multitarget missile upgrade. The answer wasn't A either, because there were 50 missile expansions in Super Metroid which means that the maximum amount of missiles you can carry is 250 just like in Metroid Prime. On the other hand, Metroid Fusion only contains 48 missile expansions, that's 240 missiles. However, you receive ten missiles when you first get the ability to fire off missiles, so the total is once again 250. Why in the world did everybody assume that a multiple choice quiz compiled by RolStoppable would always have to include one correct answer?)

I'm pretty sure the secret area (the one with all the Metroids that gets jettisoned from the station) was in abutment to the water sector, though my memory of the intricacies of that game is always fuzzy

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
