Wow, it's really been almost a year since I last posted in this thread? Necro FTW.

A lot has happened in League of Legends, but what hasn't changed is my love of Poppy. Unfortunately, in the most recent patch (3.8), they introduced several bugs to her Heroic Charge (wall stun) and have yet to fix them as of this post. But that's not what this is about.

What this post is about is sadface whining about a game I just lost!

Before the story, some backstory. Since my last post here, they've introduced a new ranking system: instead of just numbers you get assigned to divisions and so on: Bronze 1-5, Silver 1-5, Gold etc. I was initially converted to Bronze I, which I thought was low, but I had a terrible time breaking through to Silver V. Once I did, though, I shot straight up to Silver I, where I remain, still trying to break into Gold V, wondering if I can repeat the performance.

First, the lobby.
Guy locks "mid tryndamere" ... not a good sign IMO but whatever.
I say "top poppy"
they go "but tryn is top!"
??? whatever. "ok mid poppy then"
"OMG nuuuu not mid poppy"
"ok fine I can jungle"
"poppy can jungle??"
"yeah, but that enemy nunu might counterjungle me"
"ok we'll protect" (this was a lie)

So I start blue, hit wolves and go to red, fail my smite and a wild nunu appears! But he doesn't steal it in time, so I have red, I wall stun him and prepare to try a level 3 combat, but then suddenly, Lee Sin! (Enemy top lane) Tryn who promised to protect me is nowhere in sight, fortunately my passive and red pots let me escape with about 20-50 HP. Mid Kha'Zix shows up, and so does Tryn, belatedly, and they kill both Nunu and Lee at the cost of Tryn. Good stuff.

I'm back to jungling, and go to top lane looking to gank but Tryn isn't interested. Fine, whatever, I go mid and get a kill, recall, go bot and get a kill on Sona, recall, tryn has died once or twice to lee sin at this point and Kaz and I go top and kill Lee. Our Draven doesn't know how to farm. I get us another kill on Sona (she's easier to kill than Tristana with two big escapes). Another kill mid.

At this point I'm 5/0/3 which is not bad at all for any jungler, let alone one as badly viewed as Poppy. But top Tryndamere WOULD NOT stop feeding Lee Sin, and bottom Draven CANNOT figure out how to farm creeps. Also the enemy team gets uncontested Barons because Tryn and Draven are stupid. Nami was OK despite spending a lot of energy rage-typing at Draven. Eventually though, we can't hold up to an enemy team that actually has a decent ADC and gets free Barons and can poke us far enough away from our turrets that Tristana can down them. (Syndra was enemy mid and had good zoning, and Lee was strong due to Tryn's feeding; both had good wave clear -- Lee had Ravenous Hydra.)

I reported Tryn for intentionally feeding because he was in chat bragging about how he was worth no gold, and would push until he died, and do things like dive 1v3 or 1v4 with no ult, dying pointlessly. As for Draven, simply being awful isn't really reportable.

OK, new story. This time the setting is Twisted Treeline. (A 3v3 map)

Our team: Me as Poppy; Morgana; and Rengar. Theirs: Vayne; Karma; and Brand.

The early game didn't go that well but it wasn't horrible. But it soon emerged that Vayne was rushing Frozen Mallet. We joked about tank vayne, but it was really strong. She had infinite kite, and there was No. Escape. I noticed how powerful the slow was when it was instrumental in her getting a triple kill (with 3 man teams). After FM she got normal damage and attack speed items. Her two teammates weren't idiots, but they were getting carried hard.

Morgana and I were doing the lifting on our team. Again, the other guy contributed, but it was basically us two making the plays. At one point, Vayne was the only one alive on either team and she downed a turret and inhibitor and I knew that if it happened again we were done for, but happily it didn't; we eked out a win, largely because I could ult someone who wasn't Vayne, and then either annihilate them and turn on Vayne 3v2, or attack Vayne directly while she couldn't stop me. In the fight where we finally aced them for the final push, Morg and I killed Vayne very quickly -- we had full 6 item builds by then and did an awful lot of damage!

Actually I'm Diamond 1 in solo rank queue now XD

Well the trick is to play the same champion in the same position all the time. That may not be fun for everyone but I love my Sona support!

Discovered this game last year through a friend. Played myself up to Platinum 4 (EuW) but i don't think i'll ever reach diamond. Just too little time. League is an exhausting game IMO. Not only is it time consuming but also very stressful cause of it's shitty community. Playing with friends still works though. The one thing i absolutely adore about this game, is it's E-sport scene. The amount of great games they play at the LCS right now is just too fun to miss.

Been pretty hardcore with this game lately. Finally farmed up enough ip to make a 5 team.

Solo top: Pantheon
Jungle: Hecarim
Mid: Xerath
Support: Blitzcrank
ADC: Draven

In order of my mains it is Pantheon, Xerath, Draven, Hecarim, Blitzcrank. I can be average with pretty much any champion but sadly most games require me to be someone that I am really good with to be able to win. I am trying to switch out Blitzcrank for Taric atm because I am just plain bad at supporting my ADC as blitzcrank. Although I cannot say that I am good because I have not played ranked yet as I am lvl 28 atm. But from the games I have been playing I usually do quite good. Lately been getting games against lvl 30s with 800+ wins and sometimes we would have a lvl 20 and that would be GG right there.

Last 2 games I did was awesome. I was Pantheon and we were teamfighting, and all of a sudden I was focused a bit so I retreated but my teammates did not retreat so I decided to come back so I just ulted on their entire team and got an easy quad kill. I was originally 4-5 but after the quad kill and snowballing the rest of the game I ended up at 16-7 in a 25 min game. Last game I did I was Hecarim. I just bought him yesterday but I can already see that he is indeed OP at jungle. This time I remembered to include Ghost and I successfully ganked the whole game until they surrendered leaving me at 9-2 score.

Seems like we have people at all ranks and all levels of experience! I think that is a good thing.

I thought about trying to resurrect the "VGChartz team" but it was such an abject failure last time. (Failed to even gather together to play, let alone win.) If people express interest though I would be more than happy to invite you to the team.

Would be nice to play with people that are better then me so I can learn from them. Most games I get it just depends on how bad each team is rather then how good. For example if one team gets an afk they lose. Does not matter how hard I try to win it eventually 5v4 wins. Winning my lane does not win the game. Or we get games where I win my lane and some others win their lane then we just steamroll til they surrender quickly. Every time I am Pantheon I hope the enemy team has a top Pantheon that just owns me, but rare to get the same opponent and even rarer that they are any good.
