Forums - Sports - The NFL Thread 2011: New York Giants Win Super Bowl XLVI

Tebow was gone and the Packers were the next big money maker the NFL had this year so they wanted the Packers to win.

I think the NFL is praying for a Giants vs Patriots final.

I think that you're spot on with this.

A Harbaugh vs. Hargbaugh Super Bowl would also draw ratings, but not as much.

I'm sorry, I meant that you did say that.

Honestly though Rol, a lot of people that wanted to see them lose.  The refs apparently didn't though.  The game would have been something like 40-6 if it was officiated properly.  Even the most avid Packer supporter can't disagree with that.

Like I already said yesterday right after the game, it was a repeat of the playoff game from four years ago. Back then Favre and his offense couldn't get anything done, it was a bad day for the Packers all around. It wasn't even necessary for the Giants to play at the top of their game, because the Packers were that bad. The same was the case yesterday, just think of the third quarter. It ended 3-0 for the Packers despite them having the ball for about 13 minutes. Even during their best period of the game, the Packers were still harmless.

Yeah, but this team was supposed to be a lot better than that Favre led team.  That's what makes this performance a lot worse.

That will be one of the headlining stories if it happens, as sibling rivalry always is entertaining in sports. Still like in the UFC or boxing rematches draw crowds and it would do the  same in football.

Can't believe Giants and 49ers won last week.  I knew there would be at least one game I'd predict wrong but I didn't expect to be wrong on 2 games...

some great results then,i don't get the play offs on my telly

packers dealt with easily by the looks of things

so NE,BAL,NYG,SF, thats the great thing aboutt he NFL you really can't pick it i'm assuming that New England are the best team out of that 4,is that right experts or not

i quite like new england and the ravens as a foreign fan, i've rarely bet against the ravens and new orleans over the season they don't let you down that often, looked liek a good battle with the saints and 49ers close

the packers couldn't make home soil count, must have been alot of upset cheese heads yesterday

@rol

so brady for the super bowl then, sounds fair enough to me

the giants are obviously on a roll so should be noted too but then the 49ers seem to have come from nowhere for the foreign observer like myself and appear to be good for the win, personally i think i'd liek to see baltimore go all the way not just because i like that species of bird but they seem to be the little fella in all these teams and they always seem to turn it on when i watch which i will do,watch the play offs on my sky stream

i also like the packers as a team, like baltimore they are up in the NE of the states and really take it to the big cities of the usa.when i was at school and they first put nfl on our tv it was all miami, denver, san franciso, chicago, dallas.la raiders(who had a cool uniform) and obviously others but that is what i remember from the pundits,i think green bay does well but they have messed it up at the end,but you only get one chance a knockout

and the washington redskins, they had a good team when they first put nfl on my telly,i think they did anyway, along time ago now

Told you those Giants were dangerous.
My superbowl pick is Giants -Pats and I have no honestly no idea who is going to win that game....
